Winter sucks

Re: Winter ~STILL~ sucks

Snow here in Alabama again tonight. 4th snow this winter. We're lucky (unlucky) to have one good snow per season. I'm over it. I'm usually driving some LBC at this point. And with the top down

and may the ball bounce off the tree, ricochet off the rock, knock a bird out of the sky, and come back and hit you on the head :jester:

enjoy, it was 20 degree here last night, all of the snow that's left has frozen into one immovable block. ugh.

Re: Winter ~STILL~ sucks

Seven degrees here in Clarksville this morning.

3-4 inches of new snow.

On top of the 1 or 2 that was there already.

Coffee's good, though!

I was stationed there for a bit and remember every snow/Ice storm we lost power from trees falling on power lines....had a nice wood stove tho.

Re: Winter ~STILL~ sucks

Yeah, we're not equipped to handle this much cold weather.

Coffee's still good!

Re: Winter ~STILL~ sucks

I remember when we got about an inch of snow. Those of us from northern areas stayed off the streets and roads. Not because of the snow which was nothing for us. But because of the other drivers. In a way it was funny, they would slip and spin getting their cars going. Then when they came to a stop sign or intersection they didn't gradually slow down but tried to stop like they did on dry pavement. Cars were sliding all over the place.

Insurance company is finally sending a person out next tuesday. They said they've been so backed up that it's taken these 2 weeks to get someone out to look at my wedge.

I went and got a better photo in the light of the damage, in particular, here's the passenger side door, which looks a good bit ... off. It doesn't open and close smoothly anymore

In addition that ridge at the front of the roof, all the paint there cracked and popped away in some places from when the roof flexed when stuff landed on it.

Wellllllllll.............

You kind of did need some paint on that roof and hood area......and a new windshield is always nice to look out of.......and if you can get enough to work with a good body shop to have the entire car painted.....this may not be so bad.

I have no financial interest, but you saw the excellent job that Allan and his guys at A&E in Pawtucket did to my car.

I think that Rimmer still sells dash assemblies and crash pads, so if the adjuster needs prices, you can get them for him from there. And don't forget the customs tax.

Aye, it all depends on how much the insurance company says the car is worth vs what it's going to cost to have the work done. The paint wasn't bad at all, wasn't great, but it was well above average for original paint with only a few spots, as you mention the roof and a few parts of the hood with visible swirls from being over buffed. No idea what the insurance co is going to say its' worth before they want to total it, since the TR7 is not insured with classic car insurance, but on the same Liberty Mutual plan that my Tacoma is insured under.

In fact they were so clueless that they had called me to go over the total loss procedure with me, because they had thought that my TR7 was a trailer, not a car, because they tried to run the 'VIN' number through their automatic value generation software, and it choked on the commission number and said it was a trailer... I had to correct them that no, it's not a trailer, it's a British sports car, and yes i do want an assessor out to take a look at it...
