TR2/3/3A WHY DOES MY TR3 STALL WHEN I TURN RIGHT?

Alvin
A couple of years ago I had a similar problem when coming back from a car show some 40 miles form my house when my TR3 starting missing. But only when I was just cursing. I had to pull the choke to richen it up and keep it running somewhat smooth. But when I turned left it would run great for a 1/2 mile then back to missing again. The problem was the needle float jet in the front carb was sticking and I had replaced it the year before for the same problem. I asked the form about replacing the needle style with Gross Jets and boy did that stir up some discussions. However it fixed the problem and has been purring ever since. I'd look in floats first.

If you quit cursing, did the problem go away?

Thanks for all your input on my right turn problem. The other day I took the car out and not only did it stall on the right turns, but it started to miss all the time and eventually "died". Somehow I got it to restart and limped back to my garage. There, it refused to start again. I checked and checked and found the coil to be the problem. When I switched it out it started right up. Switched back and no go. I am now going to search the site to make sure I have the proper resistance coil, etc. I guess I can't complain too much, since the coil is over 50 years old! :winner1:

Was your TR3 previously owned by a D[voluntarily deleted]? Maybe it only likes to turn l[voluntarily deleted also].

Maybe best to say it this way - how many seconds without incoming fuel flow would be required to starve the engine of fuel?

[/quote ]

I can tell you this; I can run for 1.2 miles at 50mph with full float chambers and no incoming fuel from the pump.

Would that be uphill, downhill or flat?
