Who drove their Triumph today?

[ QUOTE ]
Also I noticed with the hardtop on and thew windows up its pretty cozy in there...no rattles or windnoise(even at highway speeds).

The Factory hardtops are even better (I've had both). Really turn the car into more of a GT. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Yeah, I've had factory tops on alot of my LBC's cars..both B's have them, our two Daily driver Spitfires had them, as well as my daily driver B's.

Threat of rain today, but I drove the Triumph today anway! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Storm rolling through tonight and tomorrow...no LBC's for me.....but at least it's only rain.

I drove mine to work for the first time last Friday. It was almost 70 and sunny in PA. What a treat!

East Coast tractor drivers fire them up. It looks like perfect TR weather from Miami to Burlington, VT until the middle of next week. It is sunny and 70 here in SC until Wednesday.

Im ready for a long drive this weekend!

I did! I drove my newly acquired Triumph 1300TC from my house to the farm where I rent a barn. It was only two miles and it was dark and despite the car not having been used since June it went reasonably well. I just need to tune it up and drive it a bit to allow the brakes to free off slightly. Oh yes, I will need to do a bit of welding too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I got the rot repair done on the right rear, the hardtop on and waxoyled the undercarriage and drove to a shop to have some help on tweaking the carbs. The drive to and from was in a Washington down pour that ended up knocking out the power for over 1 million homes. The TR6 was a warm dry bubble humming down the road.

Temps in the 50's and 60's this week-- To continue to be nice today and tomorrow! Used the TR3 and Miata lots. More triumph today and golf tomorrow. Weird, but I take it.

Spent the entire day dragging all over the
place with Honey-dos.

Finally, at sunset, I had to see if the miserable
old SOB Crypt Car would start after sitting on his
treads for two weeks.

That SOB fought me off like the champion slacker he is.
Crank, crank and more crank. Not even a sputter.

Finally after about 15 minutes of this nonsense,
the beast sputtered to life at 400 rpms. I held
the Crypt Car at 1500 rpms, eased off the choke,
hit 180* temp, reset the idle to 900 rpm.

Jumped into the interior-less Crypt Car, reversed
down the driveway and hit third gear on the back
street of our neighborhood. VAROOOOMMMMMMMMMM!

Almost two miles with no break down!! I will be very
happy when the $$ gazillion bucks worth of TRF drive
trane and clutch parts arrive and I can get this beast
really streetable.

But I DID in fact drive a TR6 today!! 83*, sunny,
with puffy white clouds and a nice tropical breeze.

Blimey! 50 deg and sunny here in Massachusetts this weekend. Had to take the TR for another "final" run along my favourate back roads. Will this winter never arive - we can but hope!

Rob.

I JUST got home from a 30 minute drive with the missus. A little chilly, but still a nice day for a drive in the middle of December!

Stoopid hesitation issue snuck up on me again in the last 5 minutes of the trip. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

About 60 in Kansas yesterday, got the 6 out with interior half gutted to ops check the overdrive. After spending the day tracing and repairing PO mangled overdrive wiring and cleaning switches the overdrive engaged for the first time since I've owned the car (disengaged too!). Works great - woo hoo! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

There isn't a better feeling than getting your overdrive going. You will wonder how you ever lived without it. Congratulations and enjoy!
