Who drove their Triumph today?

Wow! Guess this thread will NEVER die...especially since we all keep posting to it saying "I drove mine today"!

BTW, I drove the Herald again last night, stopped at a local coffeehouse (nonfranchise type, almost an "anti-Starbucks") and ended up chatting briefly with a twenty-something who said she'd "admired that car for two years now. It's so cool; it's got FINS!"

I had to drive it today. It is 73 here today. There definitely won't be many days like this left. It is nice to get thumbs ups from the other people on the street. One of the best things was pulling into the parking garage at work and setting off car alarms with the echo from the exhaust.

I hope this thread never dies. My Triumph driving days are numbered as the roads department will soon be plastering the roads with salt. I hope everyone in the warm states over there will keep me entertained with pictures until the spring and the start of the driving season again.

Took the 6 into work today...46 degrees on the way in and 71 degrees on the way home. It got a bit brisk at 45 MPH this morning!!!

Nick, I'm with you. Never got above 37F here in Wisconsin. Nothing but colder to come. Ol yeller is sitting in the garage with no cover over it. That way I can at least look at it.

I asked my ten year old son which car he wanted me to drive him to school in this morning and he chose our Spitfire over mom's explorer or my SHO Taurus. It was about 53 out and I figured he'd want to leave the top up (it's about a 12 mile ride and can be pretty windy at the top of the Mt. Hope Bridge). I couldn't have been prouder when he asked "Can't we put the top down?" Of course we can! Drove 50 miles today/tonight, top's still down. Maybe we'll try it again tomorrow in the TR 7!

My newphew attends Roger Williams, so over the summer we took the TR6 over the Mt. Hope Bridge to see him, Nice riding country out there! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Last Sunday we went about 275 miles. Participated in a small town parade which was followed by a few hours with four Triumphs and an AH3000 through some nice piney woods.

Took the TR3 out late yesterday afternoon -- no top; mid- to low-forties. I never put the top on at all last winter -- just bundled up and took it out when I was sure there was no salt on the road. Besides, once it's cold, getting that top snapped on is quite a challenge. We'll see what happens this winter.

Yes, Yes I did drive my TRIUMPH!(I've been waiting to say that for awhile)...only a few test miles(no plates yet) so I did the neighbourhood laps a few times...First with softop, then no top, then hardtop(this was yesterday)...Now I am driving the regular cars till next weekend /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh boy!
I went to Home Depot and the PO. today with the 6'

Still dry and no sand on the roads yet, in Ct. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Took the GT6 to work again today, nothing improves the mood like the Triumph. Also saw a TR6 on Monday in Harrisonville MO. Anyone on this list?

Just got back from overseas last night. Checked all the fluids, put a slow charge on overnight and the 56 TR3 fired right up.
It's 85 and sunny in Az so I've been driving around all day and having an excellent day. Everything is going swimingly.

My "new" TR4 is almost road worthy. The hyrdaulics are in, brakes are done and I hope to have the carbs rebuilt and synched so that she will make her maiden voyage tomorrow.

It is suppoed to be 75 and sunny here in the South Carolina mountains tomorrow. I can't wait!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

My Spitfire will be going out this evening as we head over to meet some friends for dinner. Probably also be bringing it into work tomorrow since the nice weather is going to hold out. Woohoo!!!

Had the TR6 out today during some record Novemebr heat. Tried a little video work but my rig is more for still photography than video (a little shaky), though I have some ideas on how to improve it. Might have to do top up for best sound though as there is a lot of wind noise. I'll see if I can get something put together to post video and sound wise. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/computer.gif

nice here in Ct today , 67 degrees and sunny, so i had to drive the 6' to work... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

After 80 yesterday we are struggling to hit 50 today and there is a good chance of snow tonight and tomorrow morning. The thing with Colorado is that this type of weather can continue all 'winter' long. Which is why cars never go into winter 'hibernation'. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

I refurbished the Crypt Car's chrome valve cover
in drop dead beautiful, 86*, tropical, island
sunshine this morning.
