Who drove their Triumph today?

Oh, it's not fair. It's frosty here this evening and the gritting lorry has just driven past spraying salt all over the road. That will be the roads all damp and sticky for a few more days.
Did you actually drive your TR though?

75 degrees today - you betcha! Just got back from a short run. Here's a pic just before putting it back in the garage...

86* far too hot. With the beautiful beach babes in the mix, I might be able to stand it.
Going to have snow in Wisconsin tomorrow night. Go on, eat your heart out.

My mechanic did. Found (yet) another problem. Does that count?

Do tell... Now what is it?

Rear oil seal on the new W58 box. Leaking oil all over the exhaust. I posted a thread earlier - looks like its an easy fix.

My wife and I took the TR6 out for a ride after work today. ~65 degrees and sunny on November 9 in Michigan ... it can stay this way all winter as far as I'm concerned.

Car ran great, ticked over 1500 miles for the year (a huge accomplishment as I have only driven it about 4000 miles over the last sixteen years).

It sure would be nice to get a few more rides in before the snow flies.

Matt

Just got back from a tempt the Lucas God ride in the 3 on this brisk 45 F degree night. Top down stars shining bright or were those headlights blinding me in the rear view. Oh well, once again a memorable ride. The 3 actually runs great during these cold weather rides. Engine temperature never fluctuates above 185 unlike the summer months. I bet it thinks its back home when the weather in New England gets cool.

Drove the Spitfire in to work this morning... top down. Not too bad with a nice fleece jacket on and a hat. Looking forward to driving home this afternoon. High temps predicted to be in the upper 60's. Woohoo!!!

another beautiful Novemberrrr day in Connecticut

62 degrees and sunny, Another excuse to take the TR6' to work... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Sunny cloudless day in the Nation's Capital -- high approaching 70. Drove Greenie to work with the top down (of course). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Wooo HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! The TR4 is on the street. I drove her for the first time today. The exhaust note is incredible and that little 4-banger pulls like a horse. I love the torque in that engine. I only got to spend about 30 minutes in her before dropping her off at the detail shop.

My best friend picked me up from the detail shop in his Porsche. It was like getting out of a Supermarine Spitfire and climbing into a F-16. I'll take the Spit anyday.

I am on my way in few minutes to pick her up. Stand by for pictures.

Wooo hoo!!! Tally ho, y'all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

This thread inspired me blast around the back roads today. I removed the side curtains but left the top up. Don't worry, there is plenty of fresh air in that configuration.

Great fun.

Great analogy. I'll have to remember that one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I *had* to take the 6 out today to get the water out of it after sitting out in the rain all day yesterday. I sprayed the engine compartment with an oil/varsol mixture to protect it over the winter so the thing was smoking like crazy. Musta be funny driving down the street; faded, flaking paint, smoke pouring out from under the hood, no grill or headlight rings, ugly snugtop.....But you couldn't wipe the smile off my face - man I love these cars!

Also I noticed with the hardtop on and thew windows up its pretty cozy in there...no rattles or windnoise(even at highway speeds).

Everyday since I returned on the 7th. Weather is perfect 80's and sunny (Az) and I think up errands to run. The 3 is running perfectly after a 5 month 'sit'.
