Who drove their Triumph today?

My Triumph Spitfire is sooo beautiful JUST SITTING in the garage I don't need to drive it to enjoy it,EITHER WAY!My 1500 is completely restored 'Leyland White'with a matching white HT,Driving my Spit gives off its own wonderful karma feeling BUT just sitting their the visual effects sitting next to the family 2000 Dodge Caravan is just overwelming,Every time i get close it speaks softly LETS GO FOR A RIDE.Its a love affair...Please excuse the rambling i didn't start the thread..But i do feel better now.;-)Its "VENT YOUR SPLEEN FRIDAY" Every Fri we need to vent the spleen over something. My driving season is going to end prematurely, unless we have an extended Indian Summer. My driveshaft front ujoint has decided to pack it in. I have to swap out transmissions and the overdrive anyway, so depending on time and weather, I might have to just read of others driving or dream about it day and night.

At night the tempeature drops a bunch. I have found that with the tonneau on the car I can drive wearing a sweatshirt and be quite confortable. There is enough heat from the engine to keep the driver warm. When driving with a passenger the heat loss is substantial and I have to turn on the blower and have the passesnger use a lap robe. T.T.

I took my Herald Estate for a run around the farm where I keep it. It is not road registered just now, so I can't take it on the public road. The forecast looks quite good tomorrow, so I hope to take the TR for a spin.

I did,

How do you get the wife to take a ride in the 3 with the top down when the weather is windy and only 48 degrees? You tell her you're goin to Wal-de-mart! Although with all the wind and debris falling from above I decided to put the top up but left the windscreens off for the ride home. I stopped to take this pic and had three cars drive by and give the thumbs up.

The TR8 and I are going on a shakedown run this afternoon - supposed to be 70 and bright sunshine! YAY!

Me too! 55 degrees, beautiful autumn colours, sunny, TR purring along - great.

I'll be moving in two days, so it was time to get my cars to my friend's garage near my new house. 7:00am I left in my TR-4A for the 35 mile drive. I took the TR-4a first because it has heat! (35 degrees here this morning). It was a perfect drive. 75mph in overdrive all the way. I had my friend drive me back, and then took the GT6. Another perfect drive! 75mph with the Monza exhaust humming all the way. This could be the last time out before winter, so it was a really enjoyable day!

I could have driven today.. The problem being that the Packers were playing at noon and it was chilly and did I really want to wake Ol Yeller up for just an hour or so. It's only 35 deg right now, (7:00 pm.) I would have to have gone alone. I see no reason at all to drive with the top up, unless I'm caught in the rain. Now it would more likely be snow.

[/ QUOTE ]Couldn't agree more! But today, after standing out in a blustery high-30s day watching my son referee kids' soccer, both of us appreciated a: the character of my Herald that's sadly lacking in my winter-beater Civic; and b: the fact that my Herald has a pretty decent heater! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Took some peoples advice and drove the GT6 to work today. I need to get a pic of her sitting next to a bunch of big crown vic patrol cars....it looks so tiny.
Driving the LBC to work is great. And it could not be in a more safe place.

Drove the TR6 last night ... I'm thinking the last time for the season. It ran flawlessly and I didn't want to put it away.
