Who drove their Triumph today?

Bill,
I opened this 2 time just so you could get to 1000 openings. Oh yes, I took the TR for a couple of great ride last weekend. Thank goodness the weather is finally changing!

Yes I drove my (now 6 cylinder) TR6 again today. i'm going on a site meeting shortly which involves a nice jaunt along the freeway. It will be summer soon!!

The "Love Bugs" ( Plecia Nearctica ) have been out for almost a month now. That is how long it has been since I have driven my TR6. Those little flyingpaintremovers are a real pain. Should be leaving soon now that the weather is starting to cool off.

Bill

I didn't know there were love bugs anywhere but Florida. I saw some temporary mask at Wally World the other day. I think it's made by Plasticote. It says you spray it on and wash it off with soap and water. Looks like it is a deep gray. It's in an aerosol can in the automotive paint area. Haven't tried it. But if you get the DTs from not driving it may be worth a shot.

Had to have the bonnet (whoops, hood) of my S10 resprayed last year because I kinda left some love bugs on the paint. Ate right through to the metal. I think I will just keep her parked and wait it out, although we do have a drive scheduled tomorrow with a group of LBC owners I'd hate to miss. Play it by ear.

Bill

Nice sunny day today, Firt a nice bath for the 6 then an errand to the Bank. That done its off to the Norh Shore and a lookk at the L.I. Sound and some lunch.

Should be a nice night to drive the TR6 here in Ct.

(just gotta remember to wear a turtle neck and long johns...)

Why are your headlight yeller? Are those legal? Do they work?

So many questions, so few answers.....

Bill

They are (removable) Lucus lenses, I have the halogens behind them.
I'm not sure if there legal but I havent got nabbed for them yet.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

A group of LBC owners left Loveland CO last sunday headed for the Colorado English Motoring Conclave. The weather was supposed to be kind of rainy, but it was bright and sunny. I drove the 73 Stag, my son in the 61 Morris Minor Traveller, and a friend in his TR4a. We stopped off east of Boulder to supply a driver for a 55 Morgan. The morgan owner also had a brand new Morgan Aero 8 on his trailer. We paraded on to Arvada and enjoyed the show. It usually attracts around 500 vehicles, cars and motorcycles.
When it was time to head north, the Stag would not start. Starter seemed to be stuck. Pulled it off, clutch started the car and away we went. Took the starter back to my pals at Checker and got a new one (warrantied). Hopefully the Stag will be back in business tonight. On the way to the conclave it cruised at 55 mph at 2200 rpm. After driving my Morris all the time, it was a blast to drive something that has some real power (Ford 289). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
The Morris is back on daily duty. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

took my 6' for a 40 mile ride yesterday...

perfect New England weather!

I'm looking forward to the leafs changing so I could get some new Pix of the car with the folage backgrounds, then back into the garage for the big sleep.

I plan on having my clyd. head reconditioned this winter, any thoughts on what else I should do while the head is off?

Drove the six to the golf course, teed off at 8, off @ 11:00, then in to the office (over my garage). Then the Sprite out for lunch to the local pub, what a gorgeous day! Hope the weather holds for awhile, currently about 18C. Andrew /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF

It is a gorgeous day here around DC. I took the scenic route into work then took a coworker of mine that is blind out for a ride. He absolutely loved the low rumble of the exhaust. He told me he cant remember a more fun ride. The wind in his hair and the sun on his face it was sensory overload. I promised him another ride next time brought it in. Makes you feel good to have someone enjoy the ride as much as you enjoyed the drive.

Took it out to RATCO today and put in the rear coilover shock conversion and a new sway bar. So far it feels pretty good. Oh yeah, and the drive out was really nice on a nice sunny day

Took my TR4 up North (Upstate NY) following the West Canada Creek and into the back roads. Beautiful afternoon! Leaves at about 25% of color.
