Sunday a week ago, I began treatment of my face and scalp for pre-cancer. I've had several spots frozen/cut off over the years, thanks to my super-fair skin. The dermatologist suggested I do the two-week treatment which consists of applying cream all over my face and scalp. The stuff "seeks and destroys" cancer cells lurking under the skin - cells that most likely will eventually come to the surface as basal cell or squamous cell carcinoma.
First few days were uneventful, but over the weekend, it really started working. The strange thing is that I really expected it to have a wonderful time on my scalp - but not much activity there. However, my face looks like a combination road rash/sunburn victim! Doesn't hurt all that bad, but sure LOOKS like heck! I'm not much on calling attention to myself (except here! ), so I stayed home yesterday. Got another week to go with the treatment, and then up to a couple weeks of scabbing over (EEWWWWW!) - after that, hopefully won't have any surprises popping up later.
Has anyone else done this? Results?
