And today I finished building the axle with an LSD, competition shoes new kunifer lines to replace the copper and a goodridge flexy.

Just took the old girl (the Car that is), out for a spin the other day when there was a break in the weather, been raining all the time on this side of the pond. - Top down and just above 0 degrees C, bracing stuff but very enjoyable. :smug:

Yesterday I removed the convertible top and mounted the NICAL hardtop and side curtains. I took a pleasant ride and though it was about 30 degrees outside it was warm and toasty in the car.

Used a thermal camera inside the cab looking for hot spots. It's hard to make out but the blue outline is the trans cover and floor boards which are pretty much at ambient temp, I have a hotspot of 108f where the crosshairs are pointing.

The other pic was taken while driving and its hotspot is the fresh air cab outlet at 99f. I need to look into finding a insulated air tube to keep the engine from heating it. Previous owner used aluminum dryer vent hose.

First time using the camera and didn't realize it was taking a regular pic for comparison. I'll have to take more durning the day.

Definitely shows that the dog has a cold nose!

Installed new LH/RH door glass brush and rubber seals in TARHEELY because the rubber seals were split longitudinally. When I removed the driver's door glass for better access, I found the front lower nylon window guide broken in half and it would spread apart as the window was cranked up. Hmmmm. That might explain why the window has been binding halfway up the cranking distance since I replaced the glass in 2007. Or, it could also be that the (outer) rubber seal for the glass was a bit too long at the front and the glass was rubbing on it, judging by the witness mark on the front tip of the seal. Had to file the new nylon guides before they would fit in the vent window channel.

Just returned from a trouble free trip in my '54 100 to Victor Harbor in South Australia. About 2,500 miles round trip. First shot was taken just before the end of the event so some cars had departed. Second shot was taken during the trip home as we started a section known as "The Pilliga", between Coonabarabran & Narrabri in New South Wales.

Removed the front wheels so I can paint the nasty black rusty drums. I've decided to go silver this time.

What started out to be the simple task of painting the brake drums turned into installing new front bushings, new brake hoses, front & rear bumpers and cleaning years of dirt & grime. I think it really freshened the looks.
