Stretchit2, check the Golden Gate Austin Healey web sight and check the events section. (A little plug as I am the president of the club and I encourage our events). Dave Nock will lead the tour over Sonora, Ebitts, Monitor and Tioga passes (not in that order). Over night in the gold rush town of Columbia on hwy 49 at the historic hotel. These are great Healey roads with lots of altitude changes and some of the most beautiful scenery (although we are not taking Tioga into the Yosemite Valley) in the USA. And we will have our mechanical support in the person of Dave Nock of British Car specialist. Anyone interested can contact me or Dave at his business. June 6-7th.

T Healey - Thanks for the information. I will check it out, and learn more about it, but I don't want to hijack this thread.

I am planning on putting my Healey back on the ground tonight and with any luck take a sunset cruise up in the San Gabriel Mtns.

Jeff

Today I installed more dynoliner in preparation of the new carpet, hopefully I get a good portion of the carpet laid tomorrow. This has been a slow progression to get to the point of laying actual carpet. I have this gut feeling it's going to be a frustrating day.

Great thread topic. Likely to be plenty of posts for years. Way better than "What did you do on your Honda today?" Monday - nothing, Tuesday - nothing, Wednesday- nothing ... etc., etc., etc.
Great thread, Cessna. Great comment Rick.
The Porsche 356 version could be: "Didn't do any work on it, as it's already perfect, however, watched it gain $100 in value, Same as yesterday and the day before and the day before that, etc, etc."

If you all goin on that night trip TH just told us about be sure you have Lucas driving lights installed.--:glee:

Nothing. Drove the Triumph instead.

Good topic and a nice departure from the usual problem related threads. Might give me some ideas and a little incentive to do a few Healey-related jobs that have been languishing. That's the problem with accumulating gray hairs...you're less motivated to work on these old buggers. Getting down is easy. It's the getting back up again. All you younger dudes will understand one day.

Cheers to all.

I took mine out for a trip to the pharmacy. Came back and found it had attracted a crowd of 2 men about my age. Spent about a half hour with them telling stories and admiring the car. It was very gratifying.

The cure for the "getting back up" is buy a lift and bring the car up toYou!

Today I'm at work taking a much needed break from the healey carpet install. Good thing I don't work at an upholstery shop because I'd likely be fired by lunch for being too slow. I under estimated how tricky it is to cut and line up all the pieces. The ole saying measure twice cut once has become measure 3-4 times, cut long then cut again in fear of screwing up.

Just so that you can enjoy the stars without any light intrusion. Always did enjoy moonlight drives. :rolleye:

As a matter of fact, took the Healey on a 2 hour run up to the lake where I used to have my boat. The one that I don't have anymore because I'm spending too much time with all these collector cars.
And loving every minute of it.
