Well Pressure switch question

Thanks J-P - you've got low water level in the well, and probably need to have the well drilled deeper (200ft?)

I don't know what the "little lever on the side of the box" is - but every time the pump runs, it's emptying the water out of the bottom of the well hole.

What did the house inspector say on the water system, when you had the pre-purchase inspection? You may have a legal recourse on the problem.

Tom M.
Inspector said there is LOTS of water. We are no more than 300 feet from the Bay of Quinte which is probably about 20 feet lower than the house, so, water table shouldn't be an issue.

You said that there is a lever on the side of the switch????
I have only seen that on a Air comprssor switch???
That could be the problem. Someone may have installed the wrong type of switch??

The switch is the standard comes with the regulator start it (and stop it) switch.

Did it ever get fixed?
Haven't tried. It is nasty cold and there is a fair bit of water in the cellar - not worrying, just VERY heavy rains and 172 year old building - there is one main spot where the water is coming in which I will repair once the world is warmer and dryer.

The pump hasn't shut off again - so haven't really got enough info to diagnose why it is happening.

All that said, the original question was not actually about the reason it was shutting off, it was whether there is a pressure pump switch that can be operated remotely, ie from the inside of the house. I suspect that this is what I am looking for but, I can walk downstairs to the cellar a lot of times for $700 USD

hmmm - I'm thinking that pricey bit of electronics serves only to alert you whether the water pump switch is on or off.

Might want to check on that.

Also, get a handle on the water coming into the cellar; been there, done that, not fun. Hope your sump pump is working properly.

Yes, sump pumps (plural) are working well. There is a longer and longer list of spring projects though for sure.
