Reassembling, finally, my water pump and all related cooling parts. My pump has a grease fitting. What postion should it be in when the pump is assembled to the pump housing on the block?

On the top, and toward the right side of the engine (looking forward). Close to the generator.

The pump will only go on one way anyway, even without the grease fitting. The holes are not evenly spaced.
 
Mine has a 45° zerk which fortuitously points in a convenient direction. I think the zerk & pump are original.
