Using inline fuses?

Scott, I had a problem with my turn signals not canceling and all I had to do to correct the problem was tighten the nut on the end of the tube that ran thru the steering column. When I would turn the wheel the horn button would also turn . After I tightened the nut the button remained in a fixed postion and it now operates properly. Bob
 
I gave that I try earlier Bob. Unfortunately, the problem I'm having seems to relate to the canceling tangs. Even with the trafficator off the hub, when I move the canceling tab around the tangs by hand, it doesn't move them enough to cancel. Everything's exactly as it should be physically, but still it doesn't cancel. Anyway, thanks for the thought.
 
Well Shg, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif I forgot it was a repro. However, regarding the trafficator, if you are sure the cancelling tangs are facing correctly and the little springs are not tired or bound in their holder it just might be that the tangs are worn too much. Just a guess.---Keoke
 
I agree that the tangs may just be worn. Maybe I'll call Healey Surgeons or Sports and Classics tomorrow and see if they can sell me some new tangs. And a horn. Thanks again.
 
FYI, spoke with Healey Surgeons yesterday to find out if I could get new canceling tangs, and was told to try stretching the springs on the horseshoe shaped bar to add pressure to the return of the lever instead. I was told that the springs compress from use (makes sense) and that their experience is that it isn't the tangs, but the spring, that cause the lever to fail to cancel. I'm going to give it a try and will report back.

On another front, I ordered some MacGregor door seals yesterday as well. One issue is that he is charging more than it says on his website, and he tells me that he needs to correct the website. Personally, I wasn't thrilled about it, but if these seals work as well as he says they will, I'll live with it. I'll report back after they've arrived.

Edit: Also, he told me that originally the seal should extend toward the back of the car to the first tenex snap, and then should have a cap on the end. I've never seen this before. Does anybody have a photo of how this is supposed to look? Thanks.
 
Yes SHG, I have been thinking the same thing, plus did you polish the half circle wire they slide on and insure that all the rust on the springs and little washers was removed. Regarding the Furflex, it is great and you will not be disappointed. Yes the seal does come up over the top of the rear panels and faces the rear of the car where a special chrome clip fixes it.Check the Moss Catalogue---Keoke
