Unhappy camper

Hmmm, I see no McGregor in the Moss Catalog?

There are barbed trim clips that can help.

...now that I think about it, didn't the original have clips?

I had the same problem with AH Spares red door seals last year on my 58.
Looked great, lasted over night and fell off due to the aluminum clips.
So now it's glued on with 3M trim adhesive.

I ordered clips for my 71 that go on before the trim somehow. I reused part of the old trim and I guess it had the clips in it and were still working good so I have some spare clips if I buy some more trim. I can find the number if it helps, lets see. Moss number 667-425

Clips, I have no clips. Really?

How do they work? Yep I see clips in the Moss Catalog but never had any on a bugeye.

How many do I need?

I dunno Jack, when I removed the door seals from my '70 midget I had a pile of little clips. I tossed them in the bin when I ordered some weather seals that didn't need them.

You still have those Trevor, about how many?

I tossed them in the bin as in "trash bin". I'd call Moss and see if that will fix the problem. If not them I'd go with Frank's solution.

My got. Anyone have one so I can see if they work before I do this. In fact anyone have a handfull that are going to waste?

Hey Jack, I have a few that were on my MKII. No door seal, just a few clips. I'll mail them today. Could you PM me your address? I think I have it at home, but better safe.

PN sent.

I think Jack will be happy once we get him the clips that are supposed to go in the channel.

Unfortunately the clips everyone is referring to will not work with the trim that Jack is trying to install. I messed with the same stuff from Moss. It looks great but will not hold itself into place without some sort of adhesive. The clips already come with the type that Jack is using and he is correct, the metal is not "springy". I through the junk out and will get a different kind of trim.

Don't throw it out. Send it back to Moss and complain. Otherwise they have no reason to stop selling it. If everyone sends it back it won't be worth their time to try and sell it.

Oh boy, more problems. I think I am getting upset.

If you decide to order the Bristleflex seals thru Moss, make sure you see if they have it in stock! Like someone mentioned he is slow to produce large ordeers. Case in point in Sept '07 I ordered the Bristleflex premium seals for my MGBGT rear quartere windows, it was during their fallfest show and got a decent discount on them. I waited and waited and waited, talked to Moss a few times about the delay ended up speaking to Kelvin Dodd their global product sourcing guy and he said he was just about fed up with McGregors delays and said I and others had waited way too long. He said he was looking for other options . Mine just arrived last Friday. little over 4 months. they did knock a bit more off the price, so I got a good deal but I needed them sooner.
Mike

I have a few clips on the way to test with. If they do not work I will use construction glue in a few places to hold em.
