I thought about that and if it was a centre shift gearbox I would have done it but as it’s side shift and the gear lever is at the funky angle I think it would make using the switch on the knob awkward .You need a rally shift knob with the OD switch on the knob. Then put the headlight dip switch in place of the OD switch on the dash.
Yes but yours is a top loader not side shift. Also I didnt want the exposed wire down the side of the gear lever shaft .Yup, I love mine. But, I prefer the dip switch on the floor; I'll go to my grave disliking the ones on the turn signal stalk.
I guess I could and it’s something to consider , easy to just cut the shaft then Re thread it .Too long of a wire run, but otherwise doable. Don't some with side shifters shorten the shaft (IIRC, the 100s had a couple versions of shaft).
Not awkward at all. Makes shifting from 4 O/D to 3rd a one-hand operation. Put the switch on the top, with "on" forward, and it's just like shifting from 4th to 5th.I thought about that and if it was a centre shift gearbox I would have done it but as it’s side shift and the gear lever is at the funky angle I think it would make using the switch on the knob awkward .
Having it on the dash allows a dead pedal for your left foot.Yup, I love mine. But, I prefer the dip switch on the floor; I'll go to my grave disliking the ones on the turn signal stalk.
