TR2/3/3A TR3 Front Apron Removal Help

Here's a trivia question (and thread drift) ... when did the brackets for the radiator support rods gain the slots visible in Don's photo ? They sure make it a lot easier to get those rods out ! (and TS13571L doesn't have them.)

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't noticed. TS14502 L doesn't have the cut outs either.

My 1958 TR3A (TS 27489 LO) has no slots - only round holes for the rods that hold the radiator. Mabe they changed this at the same time as when they eliminated the removable panel on the RHS for the clutch/brake assembly.

SUCCESS!! I got all the bolts the first time, but the apron was simply tightly wedged between the fenders, and it was tightly mated across the top as well. Got it off tonight with a minimum of drama, although I'd sure hate to have to do it if I had a pristine paint job.

My 59 TR3 (TS 44408 L) has the removable panel on the right side, and also has the slotted brackets for the radiator support rods.

Good deal. Your underbody looks good in that I don't see any repair work from minor/major collisions. Everything looks straight.
That's unusual actually as many did a fine exterior repair for shunts but kind of hammered the underbody into submission as no one would see it.

Could be, but I am convinced that there is not a hard change point for the dummy panel.

And TS39781LO has the slots and the dummy panel.
