Tony Barnhill - Discussion Thread

Tony will leave an enormous void. He touched the lives of all who knew him, and I regret that I never had the chance to meet the man in person.

That just knocked me sideways, as with all of us.

Just completely stunned.......

What a dreadful shame. I'm just sorry that I never knew him in person. My sympathy to his family.

Hay guys that is Not Tonys truck. The article says his truck hit an suv. If you remeber he had a Dodge Ram, white.

Wonder what really happened.

Shock and disbelief! I saw the other posting and immediately thought "BAD joke Basil!" and came here to have the awful truth confirmed. Though I was never fortunate enough to meet Tony face to face, over the years of membership here I developed a good "virtual" friendship with him with almost daily exchanges over seven years! I feel a loss akin to when I lost my Dad (even though Tony and I were almost the same age)! My prayers are with Jerri and the rest of his wonderful family that we got to know so well in so many small ways via this forum. He will be sorely missed but his memory will live on.

Such sad news. He will be missed. My Condolences to his family.

Basil,
I would love to get their address and sent a card if that is appropriate. I never met Tony or even talked to him very much, but he was always a "good ole boy".

Jack, i thought the same thing...a quick google turned up this additional report...

https://blog.al.com/breaking/2010/01/names_of_victims_from_this_mor.html

The truck in the previous report was neither upside down or in the ditch!

I cannot derscibe the sense of loss, deprivation and anger I feel! WHY wasn't he (of all people!)wearing his seat-belt??

Unfortunately Jack, one of the news articles named him.

I first read about this on another forum, just moments ago. As I noted there, I'm shocked and stunned beyond belief. Honestly, I have few words to express what a blow it was to read the title of the thread. So, so sad. Tony was a real M.G. enthusiast and a very active member of this forum. He will be missed by many.

very sad to read this post....my condolences and prayers for Tony's family.

Sorry to hear of this great loss.

that was Tony's old truck, I put a starter on it once when he visited here

Makes one wonder what might have/could have been a preventable death:

"Don Webster, HEMSI chief operating officer, said Anthony Barnhill wasn't wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene."

R.I.P., Tony.

Chuck - who would have thought the old Sonoma and Tony would go out that way. Like the Sonoma, I thought Tony would turn over the odometer and keep going.

I was trying to talk Kelly into taking a pottery course about an hour or two away from Tony so I could ride up and meet him. I really don't know what to say. There's so much, but not enough....

I just read about Tony on another forum! Our prayers go out to his family and for the recovery of his wife. How horrible! It still doesn't seem real. He will be missed dearly. Life is so fragile.
