Tony Barnhill - Discussion Thread

I had the pleasure of meeting both Tony and Jerri at least 3 times. I just feel numb after hearing this awful news. I hope Jerri pulls through, but I know she's going to be devastated....

God must be ready to restore his MG. Another great one gone.

Awful... very sadden to learn the news.
Tony not only responded as a gentleman on this forum, but was a man of his own convictions... he told it as he saw it.
We will all miss him.

This news saddened me greatly when I read it over at MG Enthusiasts BBS.
I hoped it was a mistake, then came here and saw Basil's post.

Tony was a great and gentle man, he was giving and supportive.
Phone calls, emails and posts here on the forum - he was a giver so personally to many of us and he has left a hugely empty place in my mind and heart. I really wish I had taken the opportunity to meet him the last time he traveled here.

I'm praying for Jerri's health and for their family, prayers for all of them to recover.

When I first got my GT I had all kinds of problems getting parts from the Proper MG in that lies another story, members of the MGB Experience recommended Tony as a source to get my parts new or old. I ordered all my structural parts and asked if he had any of the "Fishmouth' grills, the one he sent was in great shape and at a real good price. I have since then conversed about problems and parts and he always had the answer or would get it for me. As I sit at my computer looking at what has been written I can't help but think of the loss to all who knew and those that will not know Tony. My prayers to his wife and family for their loss an to Jerri for a full recovery.

It just ain't fair! I am so saddened- a decent man cut down so young.
We had a blast in Puerto Rico, didn't we Tony!!! Dale and Wendy

Tony was a good friend, we spoke on the phone usually weekly and he and Jerri have stayed at our house several times. We called each other bud.

Life is just too darn short at times. Kay and I are really upset. I am afraid to discuss it with Miss Agatha. She got all her new parts through Tony at his cost, what a really nice guy that will revembered by all of us forever.

And just who is going to eat Mexican with me? Get well Jerri your invited.

SHock, disbelief and now anger. Paced for the last hour.

no words. none.

This news has completely taken the wind out of me. Tony was such a good guy, helpful to all, and a font of knowledge. He will be greatly missed by one and all.
Our hopes and prayers go out to Jeri and the family.

Tony will be missed here and throughout the british car community. I was luck enough to meet him and Jerri several times. I have good memories of a great guy!

This is shocking news. I never met the man, but got to know him very well from this forum. I always looked forward to his pearls of wisdom. I hope the best for his wife and family. He will be missed.
