The Atlas (low, mid and high as well as the "anti Atlas") were amazing. I really didn't appreciate how mountainous norther Morocco was. Loved every minute of our 20 days there (where really go all over the place). Marrakesh was my favorite city... chaotic, dense, and fun.

Hi Doug - he used the Dixie Clipper (Boeing 314) to fly to Europe, then the Sacred Cow (a modified C-54) to fly to Marrakesh.

Evidently the original "Marrakesh Express" (ala C, S, & N) no longer operates. We did take an amazing bullet train from Tangier to Rabat... at about 200mph!

Seeing the original VC-54 "Sacred Cow" at the USAF Museum in Dayton was quite a thrill, as was SAM 26000 (Kennedy's 707/AF One). The Sacred Cow was pretty spartan inside compared to later aircraft, but the elevator designed to raise and lower FDR's wheelchair into/out of the aircraft was ingenious. The forward cabin in SAM 26000, where LBJ took the oath of office after Kennedy's assassination is quite small, especially when you realize how many folks were "crammed in there" to be a part of that historic occasion. It gave me chills, as did the aft cabin, where JFK's temporary casket sat during the ride from Dallas to DC.

Ok, now folks - now let's get back to posting actual pictures of actual sun rises or sunsets! This is a volcanic plug called "Cabezon" (Big Head) It's one of my favorite locations about a hour and 45 minutes from me.

I ride a bike on a trail about 10 miles to catch a commuter train in Santa Rosa. This is the first time I’ve stopped for a sunrise.
