Kim,
My GPS shows your route after St. Louis. Anyway, I'm not sure what time I'm going through St. Louis. It could be as early as 1200 or as late as 1700. Obviously, I'm going to try and get through ASAP to avoid traffic.

Anyway, if anyone needs it, here is my mobile # 502-693-4842
Mine is 828-335-4978. I might call you and check up at some point trevor or you could do the same. I never turn this phone on except when I travel or need to call someone and its a trac phone with 321 minutes left and it runs out in August and I am activated for a year and started with 470 minutes, so I got minutes to burn. Any one of you can call me if need be just to see where I am at or whatever. I am wound up about this thing. never been to LOTO before, only been in MO once back in 1985, Only been to one car show, never been in a car show, never seen an auto cross, not been on vacation since march of 2006.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Trevor, Kim,
You guys think about Route 94 from St. Charles MO to Jefferson City?
If either of you are in or around STL by noonish wednesday, there is a caravan leaving around then.....

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

I'm considering SR 94, but I'm fairly certain I can not commit to meet up with anyone.

Lots more road and bridge closures going on.
Looks like the river will crest on Sunday/Monday and stay there a while, and slowly recede.

I too am going to have to go into STL on interstates as well, which is a little out of the way, but my car doesn't float very well.
Yeah, that would really blow to have to back track 30-40 miles to cross a flooded area. What is one of the local TV stations in that area? Maybe we can keep an eye on their web site.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Hey guys,
I'm coming down from Kansas City area either Thursday night or Friday morning. I'm caravaning with my dad and his bug eye and maybe a friends if he can get it fixed in time. i'm bringing my TR6.

As to all the water. there should be no problem getting to the lake. you will probably see rivers out of their banks but the couple major ways from the KC or St. Louis area should be fine.

I see that some people are coming through KC sometime during the week. If you need anything just call and i'll try to be some assistants. 913-406-9268 Cya guys at the show.

KTVI St. Louis is providing decent coverage, I'm watching it to see if they will ever open SR-94 at St. Chuck, but Christmas will be here by then.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

I dodged a bullet today!

My dog was not himself all day yesterday and with his history of tumors I had him in to see the vet this morning. A troublesome diagnosis and would have cancelled the trip. Turned out to be a sprained (pulled but not ruptured) ACL. Got some medication for the inflamation and pain and he will need to take it easy for a week or two.

That means...the plan to let him stay with a friend (too old for that long a drive)...and for me to head out Tues for MO, is still on!

See you guys there!

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Great news for me!
I talked the wife into coming down for a few days, her dad owns a liquor store, so she's bringing the stash; and will carry my spares and take some weight off that spring hopefully.
Hope y'all like Margaritas!

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Has he got any good scotch??? I could use a shot. I took the midget for a drive this evening ran smooth as silk and no problems until I got to near home and then I noticed the oil pressure dropping off. Check the oil and none on the stick. It is blowing oil out the rear main. No exahust smoke, No oil under the hood. oil under neath. It must be not enough vaccumm to the dang crankcase. I got some stuff to make a spacer to give me room to put a port in the spacer. Tomorrows work then. Also I found the overheating problem. last week I tested for leaks at 20psi and no leaks with a fairly expensive pump system I bought and got nothing. Got home and I could hear something. Opened the hood and the top radiator hose was making a noise at the radiator. I tightened the clamp and it stopped. I think this was my overheat problem. tightened all the hoses again good and tight.

Excellent, always the little things.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Found a interesting lil road in Kentucky on the way thru. Traffic sparse and weather was good.

How about the gas mileage? Temps? And of course fluid useage?

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Gas mileage somewhere above 30 so far. I'll have to figure it out in LOTO as the batteries ran out on the gps and I didn't notice for a while. And I deviated from the planned route. Car ran fine...170-190 deg. Oil loss minimal....have not cracked a cap yet. On to Cuba tomorrow.
