Stickey: Sprite 50th CARAVAN Thread

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Oh, shoot. I just looked at my calendar nd realized that for some reason I had only put in for vacation and made reservations starting on the 26th. I hope it not too late to get the night of the 25th on the reservation.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Ok, I had a post but it went with the other server. Head gasket on  Wheel shimmy fixed  Found some blockage in my fule system, but I still have a vapor lock condition when climbing a hard hill and the under hood temps get high. Still it was 90s here yesterday and I was climbing some steep hills. gonn do some things to tyr and cool it down under the hood and also insulate the fuel line better and maybe a heat shield and see if that helps.

OK, all squared away now. See y'all there. Gonna leave out at 0400 on the 25th and Hopefully get there around 8pm if all goes well.

Wow, a four HOUR drive, not a five DAY drive.... at least i'll get to see some different terrains.. from the mountains to the prairies......!

No, from 4am to 8pm is more than 4 hours  but still a 5 day caravan with other spridgets would be a total blast. Wish I could be part of that one.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

oh,,,D'uh... yeah, more than 4 hours all right. hey, if you want to caravan with Sprites, drive back to Seattle with US!

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

It is a Pilgrimage of sorts, not only for the cars but for the folks. We for the most part prob will never meet again but will be friends here on the boards as long as the rust dosn't get us.

It is a chance for me to meet all those people who populate the AUTOX.team.net "list" that i've been sharing information and parts with for YEARS. I'm new to the BCF, but am making "acquantances" here too. And if we never meet again, at least i had THIS chance. I've contacted one of the chief organizers. He says I can call myself a member of The Sprite-Midget Club USA, the group that is putting on this "Official Annniversary Celebration". A club that has no dues, and meets once every FIFTY years. PERFECT!..

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Yep, and from the looks of us there will be an entirely new board for the 100th.

Course maybe we will do something sooner if we ever recover from this. LOL

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Two weeks. Wow this seems to have come so fast from winter before last. Many last minute things to do. Need them tires for the trailer still and would love to solve this vapor locking or purcolation issue when the car gets hot after 30 min or so of hard pulling.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

Hey, I am getting ready for bed and I got a question. All that 50th anniversary stuff that is being sold, will it be also for sale when I get there in LOTO? I want one of those khaki hats but It might be too late to order. I am on the call list there on the sight with my cell phone number listed. My ranger used to get 17mpg or better pulling the camper so it should do 20 or better pulling a midget because of less aero drag. It also has low miles, only 61,000 for a 94 ranger so I would be willing to go help recover spridgets if they are within a reasonable distance, say 200 miles or so, if necessary. I carry extra parts and I am fairly good at getting one going again.

Re: Caravaning to Spridget 50th?

I think most of that stuff needs to be ordered on line as it is made to order.

No, I need to learn to read  <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]Welcome to the official store for "50 Years of Spridgets" at Lake of the Ozarks, June 26-29, 2008!
