That is actually primrose yellow and is the original color. I bought the car the frame came from in 1971 and if you look around the forum you will see that the 1958 cars had frames of all different color. The color depended what was left in the paint gun. Later around 59 or 60 they were all black. Not sure about the earlier ones.

Here are some pictures I took during disassembly. You, and John and Tush, are motivating me to get back to work!!

Perfect. Thank you.

I saw the clip on the angled frame member and thought the line may use it but was not sure where it ran. I did not take this TR apart so no photos to go by.

What point are you on your project?

David,
I have many of the same areas of bodywork to do as you have. Although I do not have all the poor PO welding to deal with. I have welded in new inner sills and floors. Need to start the fabrication of repairs to the dog legs, rear inner fenders at the dog legs, front bulkhead at the floor and the edges of the front inner wings where the wings attach. I took time off from bodywork and tackled the transmission which is about done. The trans top cover turns out to be more work than the gears, etc. Chassis has been glass beaded and painted in epoxy primer. Haven't looked at the engine except to know it is not seized. Thanks for the updates.

Sometimes it is good to have several lines of work going at one time if you have the room to do that. I find it helps to be able to swoop around if you get stuck waiting on parts or inspiration.
I am getting ready to reunite the motor and transmission. First I want to replace the clutch release bearing. At that point I think I can mount it back in the frame.
