Finally had a few hours available between remodeling projects and Kate took the late afternoon and evening off to hit the Beach at Siesta Key for a few hours. I opted for Bugsy time. Opened up the top of the tranny with a small rectangular hole with my Dremel Tool rather than the angle grinder. Slower but more control. Once I got it opened up I was able to get my Wonder Bar Demo Tool in there and with the edge under the lip of the shifter opening, I was able to raise the area in back of the shifted as much as 1/4". I reconnected the Driveshaft to the differential with 1 3/8" spacer not two and voila, no more clearance issues, Driveshaft Yoke sits at least an 1" maybe 1 1/4" behind the tranny so plenty of room to move in and out as the rear suspension moves up and down. Finished it off with a small patch panel and sheet metal screws holding it to the top of the transmission tunnel. I have yet to fit the turret, screw holes should still line up the way I raised the lip behind the shifter. I opted to use sheet metal screws rather than welding until I see if this works.
BTW I learned you cannot remove the Driveshaft and I'll assume the converse is true as Drive Shaft Yoke hits the side of the tranny tunnel before the end of the Driveshaft Yoke can be removed from the transmission.
At this point, Mission is successful. On to Wiring Harness once again.
