Snowy in the NW - Pic

Billm said:
Well- power just came back on. Had been off for 1.5 hours. Thought that we were going to have a cool evening.
BillM

Ours blinked out for about the same duration (based on the time on my blinking clock this morning). Stayed home because there wasn't much power at work. :yesnod:

Ice - snow - ice sandwich outside right now.
My least favorite weather is ice.

Power out since 7am. Lots of ice coating everything outside.
Yuck!!!

Heard latest report, PSE has 180K customers out. Hoping we don't join the fun on Bainbridge. Still snowing here as of noon 1/19.

Well, Rick, I admit that I've been chuckling a bit over what you folks on the west coast consider as winter till this morning. Talked to a neigbor with a daughter out there and, yeah, you're getting it. Sounds like its heading our way.

Kurt.

Sounds like most of it is going to the north of me but I've got a few inches this morning (maybe 3) and temp of 0. Fortunatly not much wind.
All the time the wheather was nice I had a disassemled tractor parked so that I could'nt get my cars out.
Flatwater Austin Healey club annual dinner tommorrow night and unless it improves more than predicted we may not make it.
Last summers hot drive to Midget 50 sure seems a long way off, Bill.
Kurt.

I like hot drives- it was plowing thru 9" of snow yesterday to get out of the driveway that was "interesting" and I am glad that I still have a muffler!
Next year I doubt that I will have snow to deal with!!
Bill

Yesterday was difficult.
It was all about breaking the ice so you could do anything.
Break the ice off the porch and stairs so you could walk outside.
Break through half an inch of ice to get into the van, then break the ice off the windows and mirrors.
Yuck.

The streets around residential areas are still pretty sad but once you get to the arterial roads it's clear.
It was raining on top of the snow, so it seems to be warming now.
The next big thing (tonight) will be the windstorm.
They say there were 280,000 customers without power and they have that down to only 250,000 now.
No power at my house but there's a heater and an inverter for the little bit of electricity that makes things feel more civilized.
Cell coverage was out along with all other communications so we will have to wait and see about that.

I made it to work, though there's not a lot to do since most everyone else is not here.
However I get to play catchup for some others who haven't come in all week - yay for doing stuff I've done before - once - many months ago...

Rick
From what the TV says right now your work must be the only place in Issaquah that has electricity- QUIT HOGGING IT!!!!!
Bill

Yeah- I keep pulling up the weather for Santee to see the boredom that I hope to be having next year. Looks good to me!
Bill

We have a BIG generator here.
The temp is 77F at my desk, all the racks of servers are running full speed and the place is powered like it's a normal day.

Meanwhile this is what my poor little car looks like today:

what a brave little smile though.

I'm heading home, which probably means no more internet, telephone, tv, cell phone, etc for 2 or more additional days.

Well at least it's going to be back to nice wet rain and we'll be rid of all the ice.

Talk to you guys when I can...
