Small Victories.....for Mac

MD....I missed your point....cut to what chase? I also am not sure what star blasted means. I do agree that I try and cut time when I can...but trying to balance the cost versus saving some cash by doing what I can.

Yesterday I went with a old friend to the Carlisle Import and Kit car show. Despite the overcast clouds, the rain held off and the breeze was nice. I saw some very unique and one off cars, plus some innovative kit cars. Factory Five and the cobra crew was there plus the Car Crazy trailer. The vendors were out in force and a pretty good showing of part/cars for sale. They had a lot off Triumph parts.

So what does this have to do with Restoration,,,,,Ummm occasionally we need some inspiration......you feel me bro!!!!

I spoke with a guy about my TR3 motor. I have to disassemble it a little more to assess it. I needed to dive back in to the garage and just make it a habit to spend 30 minutes a day in there. Got a new list and spent most of the morning clearing Sh*t from the work area. I have labeled boxes of parts and made a spreadsheet so I know where items are located.

Rearranged the items in the loft and now time to get back to the frame. Look out soon for some progress.

What are you doing.

Hi JP, Progress on mine is going slow as my real work has been keeping me busy. I am making minor progress as I get out in the garage for an hour or two here and there...Just working on welding up a whole lots of areas that needed some attention on the front apron. Hope to finish that soon and move back to the body tub to continue work there.

OK so here is a slight update.....due to other things going on the project is on hold......why you ask. Because I am trying to add a garage bay onto my house and finish a basement. I have another TR3 that needs a home, the storage location is now up for sale. I am waiting on some drawings from the Architect so I can see if a lift will fit. There is the HOA thing and pulling permits....but that is just paperwork. 000_0005.jpgSo the hope is by late fall or early winter I will have all of the triumph stuff in the same location and more basement SF for the kids.......ohh yeah and a electrical subpanel in the garage with a 220 feed.

Crossing the fingers on setbacks and drawing submissions.....Woohooo

JP

That will be cool. Thanks for the update. Cheers, Tush

Great JP. We'll be back on the same schedule...I'm waiting for my first raise since '91 this Dec to get going again!

It's a pain, but really worth the investment to get the shop ready ahead of time.

So I saw the drawings and I will be somewhere around 10' at the front and back ceiling height.....but the middle will be trussed with about 14'.....will that be enough clearance to fit both of the TR3's?

OK so here is my update. I have not posted in a while because I have been handed a slight setback...I am actively seeking employment. I did get approval for my garage addition but need to have the money as well. I am sure God has a plan, so waiting to see the next open door.

In the meantime.....I am on hold with the car work. I really enjoy seeing the progress everyone else is making so keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear, but sounds like you're staying positive and open to opportunity.

Hang in there.

Mickey

And I'm trying to talk him into moving to Texas...

It's easy JP, drive south till you smell it, then west till you step in it!

Well Slight update is that Santa brought me a call and Employment is in my near future.....So maybe I can get back on track after catching up on a few bills. Bring on 2014.......Hopefully I can post enough to bore the **** out of all of you.....LOL

Happy New Year JP,

What did you do in your previous life & What kind of Job are you looking for?

I may have something if it applies to your background??

Best Regards,

Russ

Well....not much to post other than I have a lot of parts I need to sort through. I took a step back with the job situation, it is what is is. We have begun the basement project first.....starts in two weeks. The garage add should be close to summer. In the meantime I will probably be trying to tackle some of the smaller projects and saving for a lift. I have done the math and think I can squeeze a lift in the addition. Fingers crossed.

So I still enjoy all the other posts from projects I am following,,,,,you know who you are! Keep Rolling. You may see some posting again shortly......

A lift...now I'm getting jealous! I told you you should have moved out west...So I could borrow the lift!

So today the body came home for a semi short garage retirement.....while the basement build out happens. So as the warm weather hits....my TR3 goes in hibernation so to speak....The end result is happy wife, happy life. It does look good all together again. It warmed my soul to see if partially assembled again. So 2 months till the basement is complete.....time to sort through some trash and find some small projects. One step at a time.
