Side shot for Tony mostly

[ QUOTE ]
So, more properly, a Mk I Midget has a Bugeye windshield on it, as the Bugeye had it first.

Now there ya go! The decisive statement - wonder if they call 'em Spridget" to remind us MG guys that "Spr" came before "iget"? hehehehehe

All this consternation because an old retired guy told an inside joke he shares with another old retired friend in a public forum!

Oh well, made for an intresting evening. Have a good turkey day folks.

not to interrupt our lively chatter here, but going back to the original question--in my case Jack, I had to use shims between my springs and rear spring pans to make the BE sit right. We had a pretty lengthy discussion back in March. I bought the shims from Summit. To be honest, I don't think some weight in the fuel tank, etc. would have done the trick on its own.

yep, remember only too well. That is why I am concerned just a bit. However, shimming is down the road a bit.

No Tony, all this consternation because you frequently say ridiculous things and your overall attitude is that you are the almighty source of information on all things MG. Sure you have a lot of cars and projects, but how many of those projects are ever going to get finished? You know how to start them better than you know how to finish them. Maybe if you spent less of your time looking up to yourself on this BBS, you could actually get some work done.

Oh, and since you are a moderator, and this is a public forum, feel free to move this post out of Spridgets and to a more appropriate forum and I apologize for hijacking this thread.

Well, its real important to my ego for me to be chastized by a 15-year old! hehehehe

Lemme see, Bugeyes/Sprites & MkI Midgets share the same windshield assembly like I initially stated - & if you look at all the posts, James, you'll notice things like: /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif & /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif appeared which mean we were all having fun with one another - nothing was personal until you jumped in!

....pretty ridiculous is correct, eh, James....you'll mature, son....hehehehe

Tony, why does my age matter? Most people on the various forums respect me for who I am, not what age I am. And almost all of them did that long before I revealed my true age. You have always been one of the few that insists mentioning how old I am all the time and on talking down to me like I am unworthy of throwing in my two cents in a discussion.

I don't know why I chose this post to jump in. There have been many others though that I've contemplated calling you out on that would have been better examples.

Frankly Tony, yes, I'm a fifteen year old, but don't you think that its rather sad that a fifteen year old can tell that you, "The Great Pumpkin", are mostly bark, but you don't have much of a bite?

Give Tony a year or two, we'll have him the absolute expert on what the back of a Spridget looks like /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jack, you want them springs settled, I could come sit the car for ya /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

James, I've known who your were since you were 12 or 13 - & always respected you (heck, even went out of my way to visit your home & look at your collection once)....way back when you thought only 1 person on the internet knew your age, people were asking me if I knew who the young person was (I did but waited until you 'outed' yourself)...I've never - until this thread - made mention of your age nor have I insulted you about it...if you feel I have, it must be something inside you that causes that emotion....for some reason you seem to need an adversarial relationship with me - that's cool if it helps you become more knowledgeable - but, as I said again (& has been confirmed) Bugeyes & MkI Midgets share the same windshield assembly...nothing to "call me out on" as you seem wont to do more often than not....continue to do so, James, it won't change me one iota.

Hap, you're already showing me more about the little cars than most anybody else (wish I hadn't crushed the 6 I did last summer!)

You guys, the springs will settle enough I think, I just need to get smome miles on it, better too high than too low.

Jack, if you don't like the rear ride height once you get done, you can alway do some lowering block and put it right where ya want it.

Jack disassembled & painted his springs - leaf by leaf- they're the same as brand new...they'll settle over time!

Maybe Jack's just going for the 70s drag racer/muscle car look. He could put some big slicks on there, maybe some sidepipes and bright orange paint... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nah, it's because if they went the other way it would be the "mi" - "te" forum as in "some of these projects "MITE" never get done! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

More to the point of the thread - Jack I weigh enough to settle those springs and I hereby volunteer to drive Miss A till it happens - Yes, I know it's a sacrifice but I'll do my part to advance the sport /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Gee, thanks guys. You so good to me.

Geez... I leave fer a day and look what I miss!

THAT's a fine way to make friends and influence people! It looks like YOU're starting something and it may finish differently than you'd choose, James. Decidedly uncalled for, certainly rude and in fact ~juvenile.~

I'm NOT a moderator so nothing to lose: You need to check that chip at the door. If that's not inside your capabilities, go to the usenet newsgroups and try it on over there. I'd recommend alt.flame or alt.2600 for starters...

...and would one of you gents pass me th' Tenax key wrench?

Here ya go Doc, you want the left or right handed one?

Wait, Jack, Doc works on other cars besides LBC's - he may need the German model, you know, the one that looks like you could open a bottle of Heineken with the other end.....hehehe
