hello all, a quick question for peter, a british car mech who has worked on these car for 30 years, told me if i wanted to stiffen my dampners to drain and flush them and use 30w non detergent motor oil instead of hyd. fluid, OK or not. thanks

Yep. ... just fine, but that is the max. Motor oil is OK. If you can find (motorcycle)fork oil, that is better and easier to find. (it wasn't as prevalent 30 years ago.) The non-detergent doesn't matter.

The downside is that you will generate more heat. I prefer to adjust the valves by changing springs.
