I am looking at replacing the standard wheel/tyre combo on my Series II XJ6C (currently the standard
15"x6" steel rim with 205/70VR15 tyres. We have fairly stringent rules in (Queensland) Australia as to
replacement wheels/tyres (keep the same rolling diameter and increase the track by no more than 1").
I have found a great web site to calculate differences between various wheel/tyre combos
(https://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit) which indicates I can go to a 205/65R16
with a 6-7.5" rim (0.76% different from standard); 215/55R17 with a 6-7.5" rim (0.08% different from
standard); or 225/40R19 with a 7.5-9.0" rim (0.8% different from standard).
Simmons Wheels (https://www.simmonswheel.com.au/wheel-range.html) do 3-piece wheels which means I
can have (almost) any offest I want (so as to not foul the suspension, steering, or bodywork) and while a
17"x6" or 16"x6" rim is available, my preference is a 19" rim which means I need to increase the rim width
to 8" (to safely fit the wider tyre).
The issue I have is that I can't find any details on the standard offest of the 15" steel rim (which I need to
calculate the offset for the new wheels).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
