Seam Sealer/Caulking - Any Tips on When, Where, and What to Apply?

Blueskies,

Did you ever have original red paint on your car ?? Im going to get in touch with PPG tomorrow (Tues ) have the info on my end , want to see if there are any changes ( redder or more orangey) which do you prefere, Im sure it will be easy to add yellow to make it more orange. It would be helpful to match to any original red panels you might have saved.

The previous owner of the BN4 had completely media blasted and stripped the car before I bought the pieces from him. I would like to get it close to original, although a little more red and a little less orange might be good too. Please let me know what PPG says.

Blueskies, RD-2 does not come up any more other than an American Motors Corp or Chrysler number which I do not know what it looks like

The original ICI number 3742 will come up direct to NEXA brand ( I believe bought out ICI ) If you can find someone in Canada near you who can mix or buy it mixed ,get a 1/2 pint and do a spray out test.

3742 is the 2K ( 2 part urethane ) number

3742b is the aquabase number ( waterborn base , then clearcoat)

What I would do if you cannot get it is try to see personally what others have painted ( had mixed or closest match ) their car. I will probably have something off the car matched in PPG DCC when I start the restoration.

These cars are much harder to do paint wise now that the years have passed and paint products and availability have changed. Either way just order a small amount and make sure it is what you want as red is expensive to buy as colors go.

Thank you, Carroll. I will ask around about the NEXA brand. Please let us know what you discover when you do a paint match with your car.

This is the paint that was used to do my 64. Is it correct , is it concour proper .....who knows and to be honest I really don't give a flying frog fart :highly_amused::highly_amused::eagerness:..It looks good to me .
