rearended !!!!!!!!

See if there is a NUCCA Chiropractor in your area. They are not the "twist and snap" kind of chiropractors. NUCCA focuses on the alignment of the axis and atlas - the first two vertebra. If those two are in alignment, the rest of the spine will follow. It's a subtle, gentle technique and it works.

Also, look for a Feldenkrais practitioner in your area. Feldenkrais is another gentle technique. One of the principles of Feldenkrais is that when the body is injured, it automatically seeks out the least painful way to function and protect the injury as much as possible. What happens is that over time the injury heals but the body remains in the injury protection mode. Feldenkrais works to remind the body of how it functioned before it was injured. In doing so, the body learns that there are now 2 ways to choose from and can and will alternate as needed.

In both cases, the techniques are gentle. If it hurts, the body focuses on the hurt and ignores the efforts of the practitioner. If you drive down a road full of potholes, do you remember the road or the magnificent scenery you were driving by?

Hope this is helpful.

Well I put the spare on pullerd the fender away, and jury rigged a brake light to the back of the TR. I drove it down to a local hot rod shop here in Brentwood.
The car drove fine ,tracked good just rattled a little more. Dave the owner looked over the car and came up with a cost of $32,000 +- to put the TR back the way it was. I think better (his shop is pretty high quality)The appraiser comes out on Tuesday I will keep you all informed. The Doc has me on phys. therapy three times a week for the first month.

Having recently done repairs on a 57 tr3 with similar damages at my shop.I can testify to what a large headache this will be for every one involved. The replacement rear body panel you will have to have,is not as high a quality part as its shear price might suggest. It will likely require some 12 to 18 hrs of hand fitting, filing, shrinking and grinding. Worse yet is used parts where rust and poor prior repairs conspire against you.Your insurance adjuster should be ready to commit haracuri before the final bill is ready. The body needs to come off the frame for it to be properly done....bummer

This was on the 6 pack today and I thought it might help Tinman ou

"I rear-ended a car this morning. So there we are alongside the road, and slowly the driver gets out of the car... and you know how you just get sooo stressed and life seems to get funny? Well, I could NOT believe it . . he was a DWARF! He storms over to my car, looks up at me and says, "I AM NOT HAPPY!" So, I look down at him and say, "Well, which one are you then?"... and it was at THAT point the fight started..."

Your car looks sad. I am truely sorry...

Here's one of my experiences...

I live in Lexington Ky where the horse race track known as Keeneland is located.
My home is about a mile from the track...

My son asked to drive my 60 TR3A to horse track engage in some fun :-}. After the races he started to leave and got into a large traffic jam. There was a guy in a van behind him and as the traffic creeped forward the driver of the van decided to have another beer. As he reached for the beer his van creeped into the back of my car. Thanks goodness the only damage was the right bumper got pushed into the rear valance making a very small chip.
Well my son got mad and they had a major argument... Since the van driver was "lit" and my son wasn't he decided to leave before the van driver got ignorant and hit him.
The car still has the dent and my son doesn't drive my car.

Glad to hear your OK.
What happened to your TR is a fear we all have.
I drive more defensivly when I'm on my motorcycle and my TR. But, getting rearended, nothing you could do to avoid that.
Bad drivers, old people, cell phones...........
Scary out there!

Dan,

Also best to you and yours

Well while I was at the local Triumph shop getting an estimate on the TR. The insurance appraiser called with her estamated cost to repair the car, $7824.96
After I picked up the phone off the floor from laughing so hard and cathing my breath. I let her know that I was at a British body shop getting a estimate as we speak. She has no idea what kind of car this is and just doing her job. But the appraiser who came out on Tuesday to do the appraisal is not very well informed about classic cars. The ins adjuster will call me on Friday with more info. Parts alone are almost $5000 then another $15000 for paint and labour. That is one estimate from the local triumph shop. On Sunday I will be driving the TR3 to the Woodlands British car show, damage and all. I have to do at least one show before it comes apart. Who knows maybe they have MOST CRUNCHED catagory.

I think I have a name for TS28115 - Statler, from "The Muppet Show". They bear a STRIKING resemblence to each other!! Both are grey and nothing on top, large eyes and no grille!!
 (can someone add the picture to this post?)

well some day it will look like the one in the earlier post!
Dan

See the resemblence??!!

Well I haven't gotten a settlement on the TR3 yet. But when we were at the Woodland car show somebody ( Gil or Larry)brought up the fact that the silverstone paint and red interior looks great on a TR3. So I was thinking???? There was a thread about this topic awhile ago I cant find it myself. Does anybody have a photo that my wife and I could look at and see? I like the color it is now but, now is the time to make a change.
P.S. we won third place at the show smashed rear and all!

A little up date on the TR 3 I recived a genouris check from the ins. co. I have a new donor body that has been bead blasted and is going to the body guys this week. Hopefully 3 to 4 weeks to paint. I am almost positive that we will change the color to tyhe silverstone gray and the red leather interior. I would like to get the TR complete for the Triumphfest in October. With the help of some great guys that I have met in the TR3 clubs I think that that will be no problem. By the way I took the tr3 to the local "Hot Rod Shows" and we get more of a crowd around the TR than some of the typical custom rods. Most of the little kids love the car and the adults too!
