Photo Thru my Windsheild

Wow, just like Rendezvous! Except Paris looks a little different in your film.

But I do have bicycles and pedestrians! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Now that you have all heard my soundtrack, you know why my TR6 does not have any sort of car stereo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Great hillclimb 'circuit' nearby about half way twixt Phoenix and Prescot Az. Single lanes up and down so no oncoming worries, just don't go off the edge. Lovely drive and usually little or no traffic.

Windy but very nice 'springlike' day today. The wide angle nature of this camera lens makes the mountains appear much further away than they really are. If you look closely you'll see there is snow. But you'll notice the distinct lack of snow in the foreground. We didn't get any of the snow that shut down I-70 earlier in the week.

Here is some of the cloud action from today. Typically, when we see clouds like this in CO we also get lots of wind. There was about a 40mph gusty sidewind when I took this photo. (Driving due north at this point.)

BTW, this weather is actually pretty normal for this part of Colorado over the winter. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif But then again, anyone thats lived in Colorado for a decade or more wouldn't be suprised by large amounts of snowfall this time of year either. Never can tell. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Great picture though your windshield, prb51, although you don't have a very big windshield to photograph through! What a great road. I can't imagine being able to drive the TR right through the winter on lovely dry roads like that. But I suppose it never gets too hot here to drive the TR in the summer.
Shawn, what big roads you have in Colorado! Lovely dry big roads, too! Hre the temperature is hovering above freezing, so there is salt on the roads just in case and they never dry out between showers. I have an ambition one day to ship my TR over to the States and visit a few car shows. Then maybe take an early moning drive through Death Valley, visit the Grand Canyon and of course drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. Just waiting for my lottery numbers to come up.

That road is one of our 'Dual Carriageway' type roads. Fairly new expansion to an older Federal Highway (not part of the Eisenhower Interstate system though). I'll try and show some from some more typical 'backroads around here. Though even they will be gargantuan compared to the 'lanes' you typically travel on. Have to have room for the soccer moms to weave around in their huge SUV's while there turning around and yelling at the kids in the third row seat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ok, it isn't a view through the windshield of my TR4, but it is from a British car - my Range Rover - looking at the rear of my friends Range Rover. It is a cool picture though. This is at about 4500ft elevation last fall in the North Carolina mountains.

Craig,

Hey Mate!

You'll soon to eat THESE words. It
won't be much longer before I post a video
of what a truly beautiful beach looks like
from a TR6.

Quote Craig:

"Dale
print my photo on an AO sheet and tape it to the inside
of your bonnet. You could sit in your driver's seat and
dream all day long you were here on our beautiful west
coast.....(lol).
Regards
Craig "

gonna getcha Mate!!

Lovely picture Harry. Nice dry salt-free road, too. "Road Narrows" - I should think so too!

OK, I think that this is how you do this... Got Ol Yeller woke up today. 55 deg, did all the fussy stuff and fired it up. Too cool for me to have the top down, but top up is better than nothing at all.

Yer in deep trouble now Downunderman.

It's only about 10 miles r/t from my house to a
drop dead beautiful, Puerto Rico, world famous
for our bikini babes, palm tree studded beach
for a spectaclular thru my windshield video.
It's gonna happen Craig.

When it does, I'll be a good sport and e-mail you
a nice, high resolution beach photo for your sun
visor. Then you can dream of truly beautiful beaches
as drive along the barren, dull sand flats that surround your island. LOL

Crypt Car made a successful 4.2 mile r/t
sprint (hitting break neck speeds of 70 kph!)
Down to the the local gas station and home
without breaking down once. I even turned the
engine off to pump the fuel. The Crypt Car started
right back up.

Better not click this one Craig! I'm coming to get ya!!

Good on ya, Mate

Wendy is a very conservative Brit.
She totally refuses to ride in the
Crypt Car sitting on a tool box.

Well... last Saturday I put the top up and started to install the passenger windscreen when all of a sudden some kind of bug sent me off to bed for the weekend. I feel a lot better today especially after getting the 3 out and about again. Had a snow squall come through dumping about a 1/2 inch Friday morning but as you can see it's all gone now! Oh! The State of CT is only using liquid salt this year with no gravel and rocks (Oops, I mean sand) and seems to dry white as snow on the road surface with no residue to kick up. Probably not a good thing for the car when it's wet though. Hit fifty degrees today.

Tinster
I didn't notice a beach in that video. Maybe I blinked.....

Craig

I thought it was time to revive this one. Not a motion picture I am afraid, but a picture taken from the driver's seat in my Herald estate looking at my Triumph 1300TC. I rent a barn from a local farmer where I can keep three LBCs and some logs!

After seeing all that snow Shawn said he never gets I thought I'd share some of the windshield shots for today. I took the 3 for a nice slow afternoon cruise around the back roads of the valley. I caught up to this guy at the stop light and caught him staring in the rear view probably trying to figure out what was behind him. I passed him like he was standing still at the third light. Ok...Well he was actually making a left when I passed him but I beeped the horn and gave him the high wave or as high as it gets with the top up.

Then I cruised along on the old Route 8 toward home.

Suppose to rain tomorrow so I'm hoping for a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day run just volunteering with ulterior motives to get milk or something.

The Triumph Stag remains in the driveway, but the trusty Morris Minor was out and about in the snow. I had about two feet at my house. Spent Thursday shoveling out. Here is a picture from Wednesday about noon. This is about two hours after the snow started.
