Part left over - HELP!!

Dale or Whomever,

Dale; You mention that you have a "TR250" engine.

Whats the difference (If any) from a "TR250" to a "TR6" engine?

Your situation this time is "Simple & Straight Forward".

Not to worry! It`ll be OK as soon as you get Pauls adapter.

good question:
according to the serial #, my engine is also a TR250....

My engine block serial number also indicates a
late year 1968 TR250. I'm just guessing here that
quite a few left over TR250 blocks went into the
"new" model 1969 TR6.

Probably by the time I reach another 1000 miles driven.....
the markets will have recovered and I'll be able to afford
the spin on filter adapter!!

Fat Chance!

Dale, As of 8:57AM, your adapter is in transit from Toa Bajas, PR. You should have it this afternoon.

Just an FYI, but it appears that the Round part that Dale found left over appears to be from a Purolator Oil canister that was used on GT6's. The GT6 used the same block as a TR6. Prehaps at some time in the cars life a DPO switched it over to use the canister filter from a GT6. Here's the link to page that has the Oil filter for the GT6.

Paul, Toa Baja at 8:57 AM you say??

Must be arriving by a Postal worker with a foot route.
Toa Baja is like 7 miles from here.

4:47 PM local time and no arrival YET.
I sure hope you matched the correct shade of red
powder coating!

I've got the car on all four jack stands. Disconnected the
tranny from the drive shaft and removed the tranny mounting
bolts. Removed the engine mounts and disconnected the radiator
hoses. I have the engine front jacked up about 2.5".

Stripped out the dizzy, dizzy cap and all plug wires,
removed the coil and wires, removed fuel pump and hoses,
removed the brake vacuum hose and most of the wire harness
on that side of the car.

I could not get the original metal filter housing out, so I'm
gonna take the car to a muffler shop and have the housing tack
welded to the frame so it doesn't rattle around.

I've even got me a dental pick to removes the old gasket.

I think I am prepared. I just pray the adapter is the correct
shade of red............ so I don't have to return it.

I thought Brosky said that he didn't have that gasket in the kit. You might want to think twice about digging around in there with a dental pick. You might be better off just letting sleeping dogs lie and just reuse the one that's there.

Dale said he had a new gasket to replace the old one, so that should be fine.

I'm not even going to get into the previous post about the dismantling of the car.

Dale, I emailed the tracking info to you so you can follow it yourself. I have to disappear for a while, so you're on your own.

Ah HA!! The Big Brown van guys. Good enough! They deliver
in my neighborhood usually around 8:00 PM. The driver knows
my house well.

That's a small spill. I once spilled 8 gallons of Skydrol (aircraft hyd fluid) all over the ramp, of course it bounced off my chest first. Aside from the warm tingling sensation that one receives after getting Skydrol on the skin, I also learned an important lesson in regards to what head pressure is.
You've never had Skydrol 500B (showing my age here) in your eyes, or almost even worse, make its way to your nether regions; aye carumba that is an "interesting" experience.

It's getting a bit late and we haven't heard from our intrepid Oil Change Specialist in a while.

Though I've never had 500B, the current product is "interesting" enough.
