I have actually considered racing the Vauxhall. At this point it is both too rare and in too good a shape. At the same time it is highly unlikely that racing will ever be anything but a dream. I do have a think for Eastern Bloc cars and bikes though. Sheesh.
Would take amTrabbie though you caught me on that one, wouldn't be highon the list. Still shoulda bought the mint Skoda 120 for $800 when I had then chsnce. a friends has a Lada Niva ( and a Trabbie and a DNEPR. Now a Tatra....
Vauxhall is far from eastern block, what you really want is a FSO Polonez or the Lada Niva, which by the way is a wonderful 4x4, but to bring the obscure back home, try a Korando.

Interesting cars - I had seen the FSO Polonez before but not the Korando. They brought Niva's into Canada - and a friend has one. There are always some for sale but I dare not look!
In terms of distance from Vauxhall, there are some who would say that the British Car Industry in the 70's was not far from Eastern Bloc.
