I pulled the head to change the gasket, might as well get the rocker shaft reconditioned.

Pulled the oil pan to look for missing split pin from the rocker shaft. Might as well check the rod bearings(as suggested). While I have the head and sump off I might as well check the rings and replace the thrust washer.

I am going to have to work on the PVC valve so I might as well install an electric fuel pump.

While I have some room I might as well order an electric fan and maybe a timing chain.

When does it end???

Where it ends, or starts is a relative point of view.

I have a project that turned into a "might as well" project. When does it end? this might give you an idea. Last time it was licensed.

Don, it looks like we have the beginning of a beautiful thread coming up.....
 
This is not the end, this is not the beginning of the end, this is the end of the beginning.

My spitfire was supposed to be a simple clean it up and have fun with it last spring. Might as well take care of the rust on the rockers, might as well paint it, might as well put a new interior in it, might as well rebuild the engine, you know I really should do something with that dash, etc. I'll let you know when I get the rust done and maybe even get it in primer so it's at least one color again. I just ran across pictures of it I took when I first bought it, it's been so long I forgot what it looks like all assembled.
 
I think the "might as well" syndrome is part of the appeal of owning an LBC! Plus, when it ends (if it ever does), you have to get an additional LBC so it can begin again!
