Mickey, if possible, why not start your own restoration thread on the MG V6? Photos of the engine bay before/after; parts; sequence of the build, etc.

Not only is your conversion popualar, but the photo documentation would be very useful.

Get yer camera out and post some pics, man! :yesnod:

Interesting question. I think it is just that MG owners seem to have gathered around the other site more than here and that the Triumph owners have gathered around this one.

I've owned tons of both marques and have enjoyed both. As a general observation, the MGs tend to be better built than the Triumphs (seams left unwelded, suspension attachment points that pull off the frame etc.) and have better suspension systems which makes them better handling cars - in stock form but TRs have their own rugged charm as well and I don't think there is much to choose between them (there - I have just alienated myself from BOTH groups).

I think I have owned just about every post war model of each, or had the chance to shake one out to see what makes it tick. I'm fresh out of TRs at this point, and as I have sworn never to buy any more cars, that may be a permanent condition, but I spend many enjoyable hours in them.

Last fall I added a TR4A to my garage and now have a "little" collection. My MGA would not start the next day in revolt I am sure for having to share space with a Triumph! I like them both but if I could only keep one it would be the MGA and the TR is a really nice, restored car. I guess when I prefer Wine I drive the MG and when I'm in the mood for a cold beer I drive the Triumph! Loved that comparison given in one of the replies.......
