Lubricating Leaf Springs

If I were going to the trouble of removing and disassembling the leaf springs I'd trim pieces of either the zinc or teflon sheets referred to earlier in this string rather than paint or lube them.

Please advise how I can check the accuracy of my BJ8 engine timing.

In the early years they made leather gaitors to cover the leaf springs and there were Zerk fittings on each end to fill the gaitor with grease. The gaitor kept the grease on the springs and not on the ground. Have not researched lately to see if they are still available.

Has anybody tried the leaf spring liners? Cut to fit. They might add a bit of height also.

I've installed them. The car is undergoing full restoration and it's not on the street yet. Write up was in November 2022 HM.

There are other liners that don't have such a large edge on them. I think they would look a little better on the finished spring.

The advantage, at least theoretical advantage, of the lip is that it keeps the liner in place.
