Ive been quiet....

If you really want a Bugeye bonnet, then I'd slow down and look for one before spending the money on the paint/body work on the old front end. Post a few wanted ads online and in local papers. You might be surprised at what turns up.

Trevor,

Ive got my ear to the ground! I just got an email about one down in texas so I may still end up with a bugeye bonnet after all

no bugeye but thats okay....maybe the next one will be...

So I stopped in to see how things were coming. Sorry for the small photos, I took them with my phone. They should have the car finished up and ready for me to take in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime I am in the need of a replacement hood hinge if anyone has one.

Looken preaty darn good there.

Just the hinge? You may be in luck since I recently removed them from my Bugeye.

I dunno? Maybe he's not so lucky.

I think that they didn't switch to the scissor hinge until '68, but I may be wrong. I looked on the Moss site and they show hinges the same up until the later midgets. They also show a price of $50 for a hinge! If somebody can verify they are the same I think I can save Brandon some money.

yeah the hinges are expensive. I believe they are the same on the bugeye to the later sprites until the switch to the scissor style hinge. I have a guy looking around for me locally too. All I need is 1 serviceable hinge. I have one that was new with the car and I already picked up a replacement hingepin and nylock nut.

Thanks!!

If you can't find one locally let me know, and you can have one for the price of postage. I didn't know they were that expensive. I'm going to go dig them out of the scrap heap before I forget.

if weather permits, I should have the car back from the body shop tomorrow  I stopped by today to have peek while it was in the booth and it looked good. Can't wait to get going on it again. I will try to post some pics tomorrow.

Outstanding, looking forward to that.

teaser from my phone. I havent had a chance to get the trailer over there and pick it up. Should be able to get it on thursday and will take some better pics then.
