If y'er gunna B.S. at least do your homework

My father-in-law used to have an MG1100. He likes to tell the story of arguing with a parts store about owning a 4 door MG
"they never made one"
"Ya wanna bet!"
And ordering a new speedo. He had the parts guy look it up, then he had him look up one for an Austin. Same part #, half the price.
I had a chance to buy a really nice 1100 about 3 years ago for $2500. I'm still kicking myself in the rump over that one.
 
Ben, you may have saved yourself a big headache. I got a new 1100 right after they were introduced here, and 6 months and 3 trannies later the dealer bought it back to save the warrantee expenses. It would not stay in 4th, something about the alignment w/engine. I got impression then that it was a common problem that the factory was ignoring.
