And every time I get behind the wheel (of my old triumph), I feel that way again.
The trunk lid has an underside consistent with the older models (channels instead of rods) and the trunk is square at the back. It looks like the removeable trunk rack has never been off, since the wing nuts and threads are painted. Do the doors not close when the side curtains are on?
I think it looks great -aside from the brake/clutch kludge. You will need a vent on that type rocker cover, or oil will leak everywhere during spirited driving. The other style cover used a vented cap.
Are you old enough to be a kid again? I am happy for you.

That is certainly the case with mine. If I'm just popping in somewhere for a short time, and the first slam doesn't get it, (hmmm, I'd say about 30% of the time) I just leave it that way.NickMorgan said:GBRandy said:The doors seem a bit odd to me and until I see it I can not say for sure what is up there. It is surprising how often you see sidescreen TRs with the doors not closed properly. I think that it is because it is difficult to slam them shut with the sidescreens fitted.
In addition, I think the commission number tag isn't in quite the right location. Didn't the 3As with the smaller tag all have it down lower and closer to the edge? I've checked several photos I happen to have handy, and they all match my recollection. Below is one from Don Elliott.Andrew Mace said:Notice how the two body plates are a: both natural (one should be painted) and b: side-by-side instead of one above the other?
Geo Hahn said:I agree with Randall's comment re the location of the commission plate but before we get Randy's underwear in a twist I'll add that the cavalier positioning of the Mulliners and Standard plates suggests to me lack of attention to detail rather than mischief.
The commission plate (and brass tags) seem to be secured with hex-head bolts instead of rivets for the plate (that could be an issue with some MVD/DMV/BMV officials) and flat-head screws for the tags. The commission plate also looks way too nice to be 50 years old. But then Moss & TRF sell them so not surprising that a new one might be used on a restoration.
