I have a paint question

It would be a good idea to have a copy of the product information sheet for whatever paint system you are using. All of the caveats should be spelled out in that.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif This is an absolute must!! The manufacturers are the final authority on the specifics of using their products!! 9 times out of 10 if you vary, you will have problems! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Here is the page with the application guide for my paint on it. Not much really on here. I bought thier paint and thier reducer and thier speed clear and hardener. I bought some self etching primer for the bare metal to put down first. Notice it talks about taping off graphics etc before clearing. This must mean that it does not have to be cleared immediately. alsa

"Metallics" are problematic in any event. The way the inclusions "lay down" varies with gravity, angle of application and a number of other factors. Doubt if I'd shoot that stuff a panel at a time (i.e. doors/lids seperate from the body) for that reason. Continuous application across the integral car is the only way to get a consistent appearing result. Especially if it's not something you do every day. And a two-stage is only compounding the problem.

Just my two cents' worth.

I never much cared for a yellow metallics, kinda looks like it belongs on dune buggy or a bowling ball, but that's just my opinion. It you want to see a really nice solid yellow, here's one, this is Viper yellow, we used it on this race we built, if you look through a chip book, you'll see it it on about 2004 Chrysler colors.
