I want two of each

1 to drive!
1 to keep in my garage!

I can only dream of having a garage the size of yours! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bow.gif

Maybe my imagination, but there seems to be a definite LBC pecking order.

I think that's pretty right. I started with an MGB, then a Triumph, and now have a Big Healey in lots of bits and a Jensen Healey in somewhat fewer bits.

And I'd like to get a nice Spit again like I used to have....

So many nice LBCs, so little money... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Just read all the post today and have had several good chuckles. I've had a BE over 25 yrs and find no reason to defend or have any pretentions, but any laughing will be over if you want to run. That being said, I've also restored a TR6 with my oldest son and that is the ultimate end to our cars. The association we have with our families and friends. Having said all this, I am jealous because I haven't found a BE beer.

First and formeost let me say that Triumph more than holds its own in the Beer battle with Spitfire Beer, a fine, stout British Ale. I actually had some the other day and wondered it they hadn't mixed a bit of Castrol or used gear oil in for flavor.

I too am one of the those guys that has sampled many marques, MG, AH, and Triumph, as far as starting my 4A after everything was rebuilt was by far the easiest and best, even in sub zero (farenheit) temps.

Hi There Folks;

Just driving thru /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif and could`nt resist a comment!

Like the majority here; I too had a few "MGs": 2-TDs / 1-TF / 2-midgets / 1-Bee: All of which were a Ton of Fun:

Compared to the TR3s / TR4s & TR6s I`ve had; "In My Opinion"; There is No Comparison in reliability, performance, Crowd pleasers & re-sale value, etc:

Top of my hit parade is, was, always will be an E-Type Rdstr: Then the "Big" Healeys (Never had one)! Then, Anything else thats British:

American Muscle on the other hand would have to be a `63-`67 Vette Rdstr: Any HP etc (Never had one of these either)!

Once a "Car Guy or Gal" always a "Car Guy or Gal" regardless of what your driving pleasure is!!

Happy Motoring to All; /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

PS: This past season went to an MG car club meet wearing my White Tee Shirt that read: "I`d rather push a Triumph than drive an MG"! Got a bit of contraversy, laughs, not soo nice comments & some looks that could kill but It was "FUN"!!

OK, maybe I'm dense, no comparison--but who wins???

I don't see it as that clear, T series MGs get lots of attention but so do TR3s and 4s, TRs are most always faster than MGs (in stock form), but MGs handle better, and you will get lots of opininions about reliability, My 4A was by far the most reliable british car I ever had, probably followed by my B GT, followed by various Spridgets followed by my present Healey 100.

Reliability is a sticky one to guage these days, probably more dependent on the quality of the work and parts put on the car over the years than the original design.

gelemon;

"In My Opinion"! The MGs don`t compare to the Triumphs in all due respect to the MG owners out there!

Hmm, that's a Bosche D-Jet system, right? With that having to turn the key on/off sequence, sounds like maybe a bad time switch for the fuel pump? If the car runs fine when warmed up, it's gotta be that or the CSI as you mentioned, or the AAV, right? Unlike the K-Jet systems (which make me tear my hair out), I don't think there's much else to the cold-start circuit on those things.

It could be the fuel pump. It started making some noise earlier this year. We bought an aftermarket EFI pump from Summit that I plan to make work. The $400 folks want for the correct Bosch pump is just insane... if it was a visible part, I could see it... but it's just a fuel pump... I'll probably pull the CSI in the spring and see what I can do with it.

The AAV works as I can notice a drop in idle RPM as the engine warms up... actually, the only way I know it's warm as the temp gauge still doesn't work...

Still have a lot to do to Baldrick over the Winter, although not as much as last Winter...

send the injectors to Witchhunter.com - $17 plus shipping to inspect, clean, and "rebuild". Took my frozen injectors and got then free adn running great.
