Heater switch/cables - what's the difference?

What's the difference in these two switches (other than the part number))?

You may be right. My NOS Bugeye switch/cable is 26" from the tip of the knob to the end of the cable (24" to the end of the sheathing). I found a switch/cable on eBay a a few week ago in excellent shape. Cleaned up to look almost new. Put a new knob on it from Ashley Hinton. The new acquisition is 33 1/2" long from the tip of the knob to the end of the cable (31 1/2" to the end of the sheath). Now I really curious as to why the lengths would be different.

Any reason to think that the switches would function differently?

I don't know why the MKII Sprite would be different from a Bugeye cable but the MKIII and early MKIV did have a slightly longer cable to go with the new style dash. They also flipped the heater blower mount at some point making the cable different too.

Some time ago, I purchase one off ebay, and it was too long. I just trimmed it and all is well in heater-cable land!
