Forward Tilt Bonnet

Any ideas on a Quick Disconnect for headlight wiring and turn signals. Haven't found anything that looks nice / weatherproof yet.

I was able to get hold down latches fairly easily. There is a place in the classifieds in the back of Classic Motorsports MAgazie that lists all sorts of race car type fasteners and hardware. Found a nioce set of chrome latches. no maybe stainless for less than $15.00 a few years ago. Been in the box on a shelf awaiting my time to get the Bugeye bonnet finished for Bugsy my '68 Sprite.

For a quick disconnect for the wiring, what's wrong with the original BE plug-in set up? Two plugs to disconnect and the wiring looms are separated!! That's the set-up I have on mine and it's a piece of cake. I can have the bonnet off in the time it takes to disconnect the wiring harnesses, check-strap (one fastener!) and undo four bracket-bolts!!

I swapped Email with Frank C. yesterday, here's what he had to say:

'PIECES had a normal front opening bonnet but I have done the forward
tilt on a 69 Midget with a bugeye nose last year.
I used the later style scissor hinges as my front mounting tilt
brackets. I just took the hinges apart and used a couple piece of them.
I don't remember exactly how I did it, it was sort of a cut and fit type
of deal.
I mounted the brackets to where the bumper bolts and used a 1/4" rod as
the pivot. 2 hair pins and the rod pulled out for easy bonnet removal.
I used an old signal plug for the lights and horn wiring so I could just
unplug the bonnet wiring from it.
The brackets are not hard to make, they have to point up and out just a bit.
I sold that 69 so I can't even take a look at it.
I attached the only picture of it with the bonnet open, no real help but
you can see the support/stop cables.'

Ray,I used the Painless wiring set on my BE. It went together pretty easy, not exactly Painless though! I ordered the 6 circut race car kit and have not had any problems with it. I did not make any disconnects on it though. I mounted the box under the dash on the passenger side, out of the way, so it looks original, only better.
 
Anyone know if this is a bugeye bumper? Its listed for a 3000, maybe they were the same?

Looks much better than the one I got.
 
Doesn't look quite like a bugeye bumper. Brackets look wrong and the radius at the ends looks larger.
 
That's a steal.. I've sold two sets of overriders and got more than that for each set w/o the bumper. Let's see a photo of the brackets.
 
I think not but the uprights are.
 
I take that back, Bugeye stuff. The other pics made the difference.
