TR2/3/3A Flasher unit location on TR3A?

Anybody have a shot of their LHD TR3A engine compartment showing exactly where the flasher unit is supposed to be? Mine is just hanging loose from the wiring harness, and I can't seem to locate a picture which shows where it is supposed to bolt down.

just to the outside of the electric control box on the sloped part of the fire wall. The bolt hole is about level with the top of the control box.

I saw a picture on an other thread (the thread was about refishing the engine bay of a red TR3) and one of the posts had a picture that included that area.

Note that it's different depending on whether you have a pre- or post-60K TR3A. Here's an old photo I saved from fleabay, showing what I believe to be correct for pre-60K LHD.

On post-60K cars, both the flasher and the control box were re-oriented.

I'll go double check the numbers when I get back to the car (it's at my folks house, not at my place at the moment), but since it doesn't look like the picture, I'm assuming it's a post-60K car. Anybody got a picture of that arrangement?

Not certain, but I think this is right for post-60K LHD. Obviously RHD has to have the flasher in a different location (along the top of the pedal box cutout as I recall).
Also note that there should possibly be a cover on the fuse block, which is not shown in this photo.

Ta! That's it, definitely. And yes, the fuse block is indeed supposed to have a cover on it.

Randall - The photo of the red TR3A you show it a little off. Here is where it should be for a late TR3A (TS 81551 L).

You're right as always, Don. I just checked the TRA judging manual (should have checked it first) and it calls for vertical mount with connectors at the top.

Well that make sense. Just let the water drain down the connections

Don - That way the water can seep right into the unit to do it's best job possible to corrode the innards. Luckily, my TR3A is an early one and the flicker relay is mounted like the one shown in Randall's green photo.

I'd say mount it pointing down unless your going to a judging.
