The darndest thing happened yesterday, I was rummaging around in the garage keeping out of the Domestic Goddess' way, when I noticed a small steel cap in the drivers seat of my BJ7. Strange, as I had not been out in it since Goodwood Revival and certainly had not placed anything on the seat.
I carried on rummaging for a while then a little light came on in my head. I revisited the car and looked into the foot well. The dimmer switch had exploded - not literally but the cap and the internal spring had flown off the switch unit, the connection had worn out with the foot movement and it had just came apart.
I am about to jack the car up to replace a worn Hardy Spicer joint on the propshaft so will remove the dimmer switch at the same time to see if it can be repaired.
Have any of you guys had this experience?
Bob
