TR2/3/3A TR3a dimmer

I have seen several versions of dimmer switchs,and it looks like I need the one with round base for late body.
I see no way to mount.
There are no holes in my front floor area,only two captive nuts in recessed area in front of door post,with about 4" centers.What are these mounts for?
There is also one strap for loom and two,I guess carpet clips.
How does dimmer mount?

Tom,

Dimmer bracket mounts to the wall of the tub and dimmer sets inside the mount.

Did you find any parts locally, I'll be back in town soon and look for parts. Do you want me to add this part to the list.

Sounds like you do not have the bracket. Perhaps (I'm not positive where late TR3As are concerned) this is what you need:

The brackets (AFAIK) all mount to the kick panel (not the floor) on LHD TRs.

Nick, it looks like you have that bracket upside down...you must have tiny feet to get in there and work that dimmer switch.

No, Don Elliott thought that before, but it won't fit the other way around. It also acts as a foot rest and you can just slide your foot to the right to dip the lights. My car is TS64566L, so not sure if it is an early one or a late one, but as the rest of the car is pretty original, I think that is how it came out of the factory.

This is like the bracket and switch I put on the late TR3A (TS 81551 L) that I restored. But I don't remember who sent in the photo.

Nick's switch body is the smaller diameter switch like mine on my early TR3a (TS 27489 LO).

The later cars might have had those steel walls surrounding the switch; but I'm fairly sure the earlier cars had the bracket turned the other way.

I don't think I've paid a moment's attention to my high beam switch/bracket, other than it works. Here's another view...
