Deep Freeze

OMG... below 20 F this morning in Shalimar, FL... the wind chill is something in the low 10s... the coy pond in me mother's back yard froze over in the night!eet's very COLD! I weren't made for this!

good thing I'm hopping on a plane back to SoCal in a couple of hours!

That's NUTS!! We ain't gear'd up for this nonsense. Poor coy.

It's cooled off this morning. Yesterday morning it was a balming 13. This morning it's only 10! And this is New Mexico!

Just testing: <nevermind>

[/QUOTE] ...please check me as a piece of luggage...I'll pay the fee....I"m thinkn' only one on here who can beat me on low's would be scout....it's going to negative 23 tonight....isn't there a law or something that says this is only allowed in the polar caps!!!

BTW: Basil what's the longest running thread on the BCF...this one may be around till the end of global warming and return of Ice Age!

I've gotta put on my BOFH disguise and go annoy a client now. Launched the compressor to pump up a slow leakin' tire and it ran a bit S L O W initially, picked up speed and up to snuff ...

...but th' HOSE was as stiff as a piece of rebar! Thought it was gonna fracture!

Hey Doc. They are talking about possible snow flurries around here by the weekend  !! Ain't seen that since about the winter of '86!! :eeek:

I think it was '77 over here. Still not nearly long enuff between 'em, IMO!

that's an interseting question, I'll see if I can peek in the database and figure that out.

At this point in time New Mexico and Ontario have the same temp.
We got about 1/2" of snow overnight and no more forecast for the weekend. The temp is supposed to get almost to freezing.
This is normal for us, the rest of the continent is very cold.
I don't know why there is this small pocket around Lake Erie.

I really do feel sorry for you guys.

Dave

Does that "pocket" extend down to the southern coast of th' Lake, Dave? I had th' "tenant" boosted out of the house up there and not certain the water was properly drained. Likely facing some issues with plumbing soon if not. :madder:

Took husband to airport this morning, leaving at 5:45 AM, temp was 8 degrees. Way too cold for me. :frown:

I had to break the ice over my pond y'day also...there was a little water not frozen because the pump was still moving water through the waterfall.....birds are who Jerri is worrying about now.

We've got iguanas fallin' outta trees down here.

Business oporunity........Go collect 'em. I hear they make a good stew. Wonder what they go for per #.

And yeah, they taste like chicken.

Doc;

According to our weather channel, it is very cold on the south side of the lake.
Is your abode in Ohio or Penn?
If you were desperate, I could travel around the lake for you. Only about 4-5 hours from Cleveland and the same to Erie.

Dave

tell 'er not to fret, they a'warin' down coats !!!!
(Kelly and I were discussing that today. We had 16 doves in two rows of eight on the wire all bunched up together. If'un they get cold, I imagine they'll move to the tree or ground. The'll be fine. You can always thaw doves in brown gravy :cowboy:

Between the two, closer to Cleveland, in Ohio. Thanks fer th' offer Dave, but there are supposed to be folks "watching" it... We'll see.

Carla and I moved to Kentucky from Alaska in 2007. I lived there for 50 years and she was there for 22 years. This winter in Kentucky is definitely cold but at least it hasn't been -45* for the last 3 weeks. We also had 40 to 50 mph wind for days on end. We LOVE Kentucky!!

I've a friend who taught out onna peninsula for years. Where'd ya live, Gary?
