We lived in Palmer which is 50 miles North of Anchorage in the Matanuska Valley. Believe it or not, we had a dairy farm and turned all of our milk into cheese for sale. First cheesemaking plant in Alaska...turned out to be just one of my failures in life!
I know Palmer & the Matanuska Valley....interesting history behind how they originally got farmers up there....great veggies out of that place

We're "reminded" here as well. Thought we'd be close enuff to the equator to miss winter yet not so close as to incur the expense of "resort" areas. HA! Not far enuff south yet!

My previous post was in answer to Doc and Tony. Sorry if I confused anyone with something 'outta the clear blue'...

I still like cheese

...possible a bit too much...

I'm munching on a brick of mild chedder as I type!

IIRC, John Candy had a cheese problem too.

Persoanlly, I like pepperjack and some spicey hog's head (although, it's not really "cheese".)

We made various flavors of cheddar, pepperjack and whaty people told us was the "the best in the world" fresh Mozzarella.

We have about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground and 17* here in Kentucky right now.

We had flurries here in West Palm Beach overnight!!!! The sky is falling!
If you like OJ, stock up now!

woke up to 6* here...forget workin on the spitfire

IT has warmed up 25ºF here this morning.....it is now 11ºF

That is good stuff.

Where did you find that degree mark on your keyboard? Swear I don't have one.

The degree symbol is generated by holding the [alt] key and typing on the number pad [0186]

...on an ASCII box.

ALT+248, too.

Neighbor's above ground pool is frozen about 1" thick. UNHEARD OF down here!!!

I love looking around at the neighbors on really cold mornings like this (about 25 this morning). A couple dozen look like they had their sprinklers on all night making the yard look like it got hit by a major ice storm. Hit 48 this afternoon and the areas in the shade were still all ice
