Daimler SP250 restoration

Now, with paint!

Eight coats of Porsche Silver, three coats of clear.

Just got the pics right now, and I'm very happy with the way it looks!

Great white
pretty!

James -

I must admit that I've never been a fan of Darts, or silver paint.

However, the two were made for each other! Looks fantastic!

Mickey

Thanks! I think it's a great colour for the car too.

And JP, LOL! Without trim, it looks even more ichthyoidal

Paint red "TWA" on it and call it "Constellation".

Just have to figure out how to mount a third fin in the back.

Keoke

No idea. I hoped it might be ready for when I visit the shop in July. However, Peter told me I should stop by "to see how it's progressing". (darn it!)

No engine changes at all. In fact, the only changes are re-enforcement of the underside of the body and changing the brake unions to brass, to reduce risk of internal corrosion.

Your Dart's big brother?

Packard

Actually, it does kind of look like the Packard! Never thought of it that way before.

I'm suddenly hungry fer seafood... :smirk:

Catfish?

sigh

Okay, but a VERY SHINY PRETTY catfish!

(even I agree it does look like a catfish, actually)

They all look funny as untrimmed bodies.
Just give it time, and let the "bits" grow back where they need to be...

:iagree: VERY SHINY PRETTY!!!

Oh was a block away from it Sunday nite - tragically at 10pm, don't figure they would take kindly to a break in for a progress report.

It actually looks very good in that color, James.

Not at 10 PM, no. Probably they wouldn't mind if it were regular hours though.

Their security system is good, and there are bikers nearby in the complex, the first responders to the security system. I was impressed.

Thanks!

Now I want some fish.

Living out west, I just don't order the stuff. It can't compare to the freshness and cheapness of when I lived in Nova Scotia.

No idea of when I can get this particular silver fish delivered. I think it's going to take longer than I thought.
