did we perhaps pay a visit to the resto shop???

lookin good, just like a new car should. actually better than new.

Koeke- Mrs dart has no issue with the passanger seat in the SP; guardrails are the hazard on that side. It's sitting out there on the center stripe with nothing to hang on to that has her freaked. We did a test drive years ago on one of those MKII wannabees (V8-250's is what I think they're called) and the "never again" mantra was born. No biggie, they are too rough riding a car any way.

:savewave: Well I think them guard rails be an Issue

I just wanted to tell you that the Saloons are flexible you can get them any way you want. Either as a 250 V8 or as a V8 250. Both ways they be Smoooooth.By the way what Spec is your restored car?--Keoke

You know what Dart, I do not like the RHD car with the SO in the front passenger seat when you must parallel park in a high traffic shopping area. Who has to exit on the traffic side?? and they are very reluctant to play driving Miss Daisey. :D--Keoke

As you knew, I was pulling your leg on the rough ride issue. Both my SP's are B specs; 210 chassis numbers apart.
What will most likely happen is I will come across a nice VDP with fluted grill/trunk lift and succumb to the temptation to own a leaper. When I have a chance to reduce the pixel count, I'll post the shot from 1961 of me sitting in a friends MK4 with my first SP in the driveway behind it.

Stay safe.

I didn't, but I sent a friend there. It's a 6000 kilometre round trip for me (I'll be doing it in May) so it's nice to have a friend who lives nearby to keep tabs on it.

I think they're doing a great job, from the looks of it.

There's one photo that shows a crack on a rotor, it's not being used. They tried machining one of the old rotors and it cracked.

Also, Falcon Exhausts are a new one on me. Never come across them before.

Seems to be progressing well. However, my guess is that I won't actually have the car for another year or so, at least...

Good things come to those who wait!!

The driver's side door had some poorly repaired accident damage from 1962.

My dad apparently left the e-brake off when opening a gate and the car gently slid backwards into a tree with the door open.

The door had to be broken in half and re-jigged to get the panel lines correct.

Lots of work has been done, but it's fine detail work, ensuring that the underside of the glassfibre is reinforced, panel lines are true, etc.

These pics are from last week, the car is now sitting in the paint booth, ready to be painted silver.

There was also some accident damage from 1966 to the rear quarter that was repaired, where someone drove into the car and then took off. My father didn't have it repaired, but I did, 44 years later
